I recieved the following in my email today . . .

Letter from one 'Angry Woman' from New Jersey
I don't know who wrote it but they should have signed it. Some powerful words! This woman should run for president. Written by a housewife from New Jersey and sounds like it! This is one ticked off lady.

'Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001?

Were people from all over the world, mostly Americans, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan, across the Potomac from our nation's capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania?

Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they?

And I'm supposed to care that a copy of the Koran was 'desecrated' when an overworked American soldier kicked it or got it wet?...Well, I don't. I don't care at all.

I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns his self in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11. I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere possession of which is a crime in Saudi Arabia.

I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for chopping off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat.

I'll care when the cowardly so-called 'insurgents' in Iraq come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques.

I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide.

I'll care when the American media stops pretending that their First Amendment liberties are somehow derived from international law instead of the United States Constitution's Bill of Rights.

In the meantime, when I hear a story about a brave marine roughing up an Iraqi terrorist to obtain information, know this: I don't care.

When I see a fuzzy photo of a pile of naked Iraqi prisoners who have been humiliated in what amounts to a college-hazing incident, rest assured: I don't care.

When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank: I don't care.

When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, fed 'special' food that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being 'mishandled,' you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts: I don't care.

And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled ‘Koran’ and other times 'Quran.' Well, Jimmy Crack Corn and-you guessed it-I don’t care !!

If you agree with this viewpoint, pass this on to all your E-mail friends. Sooner or later, it'll get to the people responsible for this ridiculous behavior!

If you don't agree, then by all means hit the delete button. Should you choose the latter, then please don't complain when more atrocities committed by radical Muslims happen here in our great Country!

And may I add: Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Marines don't have that problem' -- Ronald Reagan

I have another quote that I would like to add AND.......I hope you forward all this. 'If we ever forget that we're One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under.' Also by... Ronald Reagan

One last thought for the day: In case we find ourselves starting to believe all the Anti-American sentiment and negativity, we should remember England’s Prime Minister Tony Blair's words during a recent interview. When asked by one of his Parliament members why he believes so much in America, he said: 'A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many want in. And how many want out.'

The last thing, by the way, that we should do is to elect a Muslim as President of the United States, someone who claims to love America yet, WILL NOT salute the flag, WILL NOT pledge allegiance to our flag, and sat in a church listening to a 'pastor' that HATES America! Are you Freakin' kidding me?

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you:
1. Jesus Christ
2. The American G. I.
One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

YOU MIGHT WANT TO PASS THIS ON, AS MANY SEEM TO FORGET BOTH OF THEM.

AMEN!

I guess the thing that struck me the most was the 'If we ever forget that we're One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under.' I was listening to my iPod several weeks ago & a "love song" came on. Part of the lyrics go like this . . . "If divided we stand babe, united we fall". I so wish people in our world would understand this. If we are divided on the most important things then we're all going down together!!

I found it hilarious for 2 reasons.

1st - you don't hardly ever see kids just enjoying the outdoors anymore. My kids included. They mostly want to play video games or watch TV & movies.

2nd - it's a funny reference to "organic" meat. You know . . . free range cows, chickens, turkeys . . . etc.

It hit my funny bone just right!!

My husband hates sitting on committees or boards with me because he says I'm to opinionated. I don't know that I see it as opinionated as much as just taking the opportunity that I've been given to voice my opinion. :o)

Politics is something I don't really get into with even my family. I just don't think it's worth getting in fights about. Now is not any different, but this is my page & I'm going to take this opportunity to voice my opinion.

We don't want to pay for satilite because for the basic package you basicly only get the home shopping networks & that is obviously something we don't want. We're to far out to get cable & we get nothing with rabbit ears. So we don't get any TV & the only way for us to get any "news" is the internet.

As I've been reading the newspaper for work I've been seeing all the "stuff" about Clinton & Obama. So here's my thoughts . . . .

I really haven't been able to see what their "policies" are since most of what is in the newspaper is the mud they are slinging at each other. I know that that is what politicians do, but they have gone WAY above & beyond what is normally done. At least in "my humble opinion". Why would anyone in their right mind want to vote for someone as childish as these two people are being. Yes, I think it would be fantastic to see a woman president, but I also see that as a problem with other countries. Especially since in several of those countries women are still "subservant" to men. For some reason I think it would be hard to obtain their "respect". I also think it would be great to see a black president. There is still some discrimination in today's society & I think this would be a way to put some of that disgrimination to rest. However, that being said I don't think either of these canidates are the answer.

Another thing I've noticed is everytime a president makes a promise & doesn't follow through the country is upset. HELLO!?!?!?! They may be the president, but they still have the senate, the house of representative, etc. to go through before they can get anything done. I know he has veto power, but still . . . even that is limited. Personally, I think the ignorance of the people give the politicians way to much power. But again . . . that's my opinion for what ever it's worth.

Well, I hope you all had fun listening to (reading) the rants of a crazy woman!! ;o)

Today has been fairly quiet. Scott & Brian hooked up with Blaine, Michele & their kids to go dirt bike riding. I stayed home with Rebekah to clean up the house a bit. After wasting much time I grabbed Rebekah & ran into town to get an algae eater for the fish tank. We had to get a new hood for the tank a month or so back because the lights on the other one quit working. (even after we put new light bulbs in it) Well this one is florescent & creates quite a bit of algae on the walls. So since Scott killed most of the fish (including the algae eater) last time he cleaned the tank, I bought Rebekah a new one. It's a fairly small one, so we'll see 1st if it does it's job & 2nd if it gets bigger after eating all that algae that's accumulated in our tank.

This evening, after grocery shopping, Scott & I are going to send the kids to bed & watch a movie. Not sure which one we're going to watch, but I think if Scott doesn't see a movie here soon, he's going to explode. :o)

Ta, ta for now!!

Perspective
Re: War in Iraq
I was browsing through my son’s MySpace and found this in one of those “get to know me” surveys. My son is a U.S. Marine who has served in Iraq and Afghanistan. He is a 2003 graduate of Montrose High School. I found this quite insightful and thought the people of Montrose may want to hear from a local boy who’s been there.
Do you believe in the war?
“I refuse to believe that me (sic) and so many others like me fought and killed and died for nothing and still continue to do so. I saw the faces of those we saved and freed and have been shown nothing but the utmost gratitude. They are more grateful than the Americans. This is not a war that is for the betterment of the American people anymore. Its start was a just retaliation of those who murdered over 3000 innocent people that September morning and has escalated in not only the prevention of another 9/11, but a prevention of another Somalia, Lebanon, India, Pakistan, London, Russia and countless others. The American people in general do not comprehend why the U.S. troops do what we do and they never will until they have done it themselves. No this war is not about oil, it’s not about terrorism, it’s not about American influence throughout the Middle East, it definitely is not about the president’s own personal vendetta, and it definitely isn’t about money. Please remember every single service member is a volunteer and while each of our voluntary service may be for its own personal reasons we still volunteered. And in the end just know that the strong protected the weak and inspired the hopeless to stand on their own united and resistant against an oppression that was once thought of as just the way things were. So yes, I believe in the war.”
Do I believe in the war? I believe in my son,my brother, and my uncles who have fought, returned and even died to protect the weak and inspire the hopeless. God Bless all the vets for all you gave and those who continue to give.
Brenda Baecker
Montrose

I think that about sums up how I feel. So now how do you feel? Really, I'd like to know!!

I can walk now & am not in any pain anymore. I still don't quite have my full range of motion & in the mornings it's a little tough, but other than that, it's getting better.

I LOVE my new truck. Scott took it to work today since his car was almost out of gas & he keeps forgetting to stop & get gas. So I took his car today & got gas for him. Yeah, can you believe that?! ;o) Anyhow . . Scott took the truck to work today & I drove his car. (did you get that already? i only said it twice! hee, hee) I can't even begin to tell you how I dislike cars. I never really realized it until I drove Scott's car today. It's been a long time since I've driven the car, I pretty much drive the truck all the time. I just don't care for being that low to the ground & not being able to see above the cars in front of me. Anyways, every now & then I'll drop by Scott's office during my lunch hour, which is the same time as his last break for the day, just to say hi & hang with him in the middle of the day. Sometimes it's a HUGE needed pick me up. Well, today was one of those days. Although, because he took the truck to work this morning he thought I was there ONLY to get the truck. How wrong was he? However, since I was there & he did expect me to take the truck . . . I did!! hee, hee! I couldn't let him down now could I? ;o)

I don't know that there is much of a story, but I'll try to make this as interesting as possible. . . .

So, we've been having issues with the Dodge. Last June the power steering pump went out & then the a/c. On top of that the blower quit working unless it was on high. Jim put a new power steering pump in but we had to wait on the a/c. Then winter came & the heater didn't work to well. Jim & Daddy figured out why the blower wasn't working very well, but that was after Scott & I spent $200 for a new blower switch which didn't turn out to be the problem. On top of that the power steering was acting up again so I was starting to freak out about that. We finally broke down & took it into a mechanic since Jim & Daddy were stumped as to what could be the problem. $700 later we find out that the heater core was plugged. Now mind you every time Jim & Daddy tore deeper into the truck they found what appeared to be a rat's nest (literally). So now we replaced the heater core & the mechanic said there was a leak in one of the hoses for the power steering pump so he fixed that as well. Not to long after we got the truck back from the mechanic the power steering was freaking out AGAIN. Not to mention off and on the truck would act like the fuel filter was plugged & sometimes I felt I was lucky to get going down the road. So, I started trying to talk Scott into getting me a different truck. We had gone up to Grand Junction for some reason & stopped at a dealer to see a Fire Engine Red Nissan Titan. We would have left with that one except we didn't have the Dodge to trade in (we were in the Grand Am) & the Nissan didn't have a tow package. Which is very important since we have a camper to tow around. About 2 weeks later the dealer got in this one. I had Brian up in Grand Junction for our appointments with the allergist so we stopped by the dealer to see what they would give us for the Dodge. Of course they didn't come close to what we needed so we walked away. We put the Dodge in the newspaper & put signs in the windows to see if we could get a bite on it. But nothing!! Finally Thursday things just kind of fell in place. They dropped the price on the Nissan by $1000 & gave us about $200 more on the Dodge, so yesterday I took off work when I went in to get my cast off my foot & when I was done there & Scott was home from work we went up to Grand Junction & did the deed.

So now I have a new truck. Not new, new, but new to us!! And that's the rest of the story. :o)

I would like to take this opportunity to say . . . the Lord gave me great weather for traveling today. He also helped me make it safely to my destination. AND my luggage did NOT get lost!! :o)

So today I headed out of Colorado & into Texas. Technically I skipped all the states in between because I was in the air and never really went into them. ;o)

Scott drove me to Gunnison this morning to fly out of there to Denver & then Denver to Dallas. We started our day early at 4:30am. (I would like to turn in early, but I have 3 people I'm rooming with, so I need to be mindful of them.) I hung out at DIA from 9:00am till about 11:45am when I boarded my plane to head to Dallas. I wait for my mother-in-law to get in at DFW, then we headed over to the hotel together. I'm SO glad I was not driving at DFW. That is a mess of an airport. I think the shuttle to the hotel must have gone in circles a dozen times before we actually left the airport to go to the hotel. It's a mess!! (I digress) Anyways, after checking-in we headed down to the restaurant in the lobby to have dinner. After walking around so much in the airport, I was glad to not have to wander very far for dinner. After eating we headed across the street, to where all of our conferences will be this week, to explore & see if there was anyone we knew. All the "vendors" were still in the "set-up" faze, so we headed back to our room. Half way there I decided I wanted a chocolate bar, so back downstairs we went to find the gift shop so I could buy a Snickers bar & a bottle of water. I'm sure most of you have seen the "news story" of how "well" the cleaning staff clean the glass cups in the rooms . . . well neither Sue or I felt like we wanted to risk drinking out of a dirty glass, so we got a bottle of water. (again I digress) *sigh*

Well, since I can't focus very well, I think I'm going to sign off for the night & see about heading off to bed.

Yesterday started out just like any other day but for the small exception that I got to sleep in. My office gave us the day off - a paid holiday. Scott & I lazed around the house for a bit & then ran into town (around 11:30) for some last minute things before all the stores closed for the holiday. The first thing we had to do was stop off at Wal-Mart & then onto Sport Clips so Scott could "freshen-up", so we parked in between the two so we could walk to both of them. So . . . out of the car I get, grab my husbands hand and start walking to Wal-Mart. In our haste I was NOT watching where I was walking and twisted my ankle. After taking a few seconds to catch my breath I limped my way around for the rest of the afternoon. Around 9:00 that evening I finally gave in and let my husband take me into the hospital. Come to find out I tore the ligaments in my ankle. They gave me a brace & some crutches to walk around on for the next 2-3 days.

This is what my foot looked like last night at the hospital.

Well, the court houses plat size microfiche machine is broken so there's a weird thing the ladies down there have to do in order to get a plat copied. When I walked in J was the only one there. I greeted her then went into the vault to find the microfiche cards. I found what I needed and came out to get her assistance. Well just about that time L came back from break & J handed her my microfiche cards & said she was leaving for her break. As I was sitting there patiently waiting I saw this piece of paper taped on the wall . . .

Yes, we FINALLY found Scott's phone, but that's not what I'm referring to.

Sabbath morning, we got up late, so I called Mom & Dad to see if they could take the kids into Sabbath School. I let the dog out, because she was pacing the carpet off my bedroom floor. When we left to go to Church, Scott & I called and called and called and called . . . (you get the picture) and she never showed up. Not having anymore time, we left thinking she would be at the house when we got home (this has happened before). Well, when we got home she wasn't waiting for us. Since we had a house full of company we decided to go ahead & have lunch, then look for her before we went back into town for the Adventurers Induction Ceremony. Well, after lunch the kids went outside and called and called and called and called . . . (again you get the picture) to no avail. Again, she didn't show up. Since I was singing a song to the kids for the ceremony I went to the bedroom & ran through it a couple of times. When I finished Scott took the kids & drove around the "block" to see if they could find Kira. Still nothing. When they came back from driving around they came up Mom & Dad's driveway. Scott stopped in front of their garage & told Brian to get out & check the garage for Kira. Guess what?!?!?!? She was in there. She must have chased a cat in the garage as Mom & Dad were pulling out to go to Church. Poor dog must have been going CRAZY trying to get to us when we were calling her.

Well, she is now found & we are in Denver for the week to hang out with Scott's family for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Happy Thanksgiving BlogWorld!!

This morning before I was able to go to work I had to play "fireman". Yes, you heard me right, I had to play the role of a fireman. So before you get to assuming there was a fire, let me put you at ease. It wasn't a fire.

I asked Brian to put Kira in the kennel before we left to go to work/school. As he was letting the dog out, the dog chased the cat (Ishka) out. Yes, he allowed the dog to chase the cat out. Ishka ran straight out the dog & up a tree. Do you see now why I had to play "fireman"!? So . . . out the door & up the tree I went to get the cat. Every time I almost had her, she tried to go up the tree further. I think she would have succeeded had she had her front claws. I finally did get her out of the tree & back to the house in time for us to go. Yeah, I don't like trees . . . :o)
