My husband hates sitting on committees or boards with me because he says I'm to opinionated. I don't know that I see it as opinionated as much as just taking the opportunity that I've been given to voice my opinion. :o)
Politics is something I don't really get into with even my family. I just don't think it's worth getting in fights about. Now is not any different, but this is my page & I'm going to take this opportunity to voice my opinion.
We don't want to pay for satilite because for the basic package you basicly only get the home shopping networks & that is obviously something we don't want. We're to far out to get cable & we get nothing with rabbit ears. So we don't get any TV & the only way for us to get any "news" is the internet.
As I've been reading the newspaper for work I've been seeing all the "stuff" about Clinton & Obama. So here's my thoughts . . . .
I really haven't been able to see what their "policies" are since most of what is in the newspaper is the mud they are slinging at each other. I know that that is what politicians do, but they have gone WAY above & beyond what is normally done. At least in "my humble opinion". Why would anyone in their right mind want to vote for someone as childish as these two people are being. Yes, I think it would be fantastic to see a woman president, but I also see that as a problem with other countries. Especially since in several of those countries women are still "subservant" to men. For some reason I think it would be hard to obtain their "respect". I also think it would be great to see a black president. There is still some discrimination in today's society & I think this would be a way to put some of that disgrimination to rest. However, that being said I don't think either of these canidates are the answer.
Another thing I've noticed is everytime a president makes a promise & doesn't follow through the country is upset. HELLO!?!?!?! They may be the president, but they still have the senate, the house of representative, etc. to go through before they can get anything done. I know he has veto power, but still . . . even that is limited. Personally, I think the ignorance of the people give the politicians way to much power. But again . . . that's my opinion for what ever it's worth.
Well, I hope you all had fun listening to (reading) the rants of a crazy woman!! ;o)

Being opinionated means you have a brain that thinks! Congratulations!! I, personally, like to watch/listen to some of the politics out there. I do respect Clinton for having the guts and knowledge to go for something as high up as the president. But that's as far as it goes with her. I don't like her nor trust her. Obama -- I think he's a bit "green," but I'd like to see him in there, personally. I don't think McCain is worth his salt. And you absolutely right about the senate, congress, etc. THEY are the ones making all the decisions. Well, I enjoyed your "rantings!"

Interesting rant sis! I'd have to agree with you on much of it.
The founders of our great country set the government up, "For the people, by the people, of the people."
You know, I'm afraid that is not what we have any more. It's about the politicians and power and what they can get and keep for themselves.
Absolutely, seeing HRC and BHO argue, fuss and fight is definetly petty and pretty disgusting. Neither of them are willing to concede and both of them are tearing the Dem party apart.
Now if we could just get the Congress to do that and get the Judiciary to quit legislating, and get the executive branch to quit being just a talking head - then we might get gov't out of our lives causing problems.
I was just having this conversation with a co-driver today. America is owned by the Chinese, Japanese and Saudi Arabia.
Politicians talk the talk but rarely walk the walk. They have no idea of what is good for America, they only follow what is good for them.
I don't believe a word of any promise that comes out of any politicans mouth. They as one person can do little.
Our government (All governments in fact) is/are so corrupt, and only getting worse.
Of course it has to be that way for the end of time to come.
So, I say - Oh well! Rip each other to shreds! :)

I'm just the opposite; I avoid the mud-slinging news. So I'm still voting for Barack Obama.

I guess I am going to just have to cancel your vote Scott. I could never vote for a muslim to be president. And yes he is a muslim. He is just trying to hide it in the cloak of christianity. And to top it all off he is also a commy.
