This year Thanksgiving is at our house. We're having Scott's parents, brother, sister-in-law (maybe her parents) & Hailey over for Thanksgiving. As I'm sitting here thinking about wanting to finish painting the living room/dinning room and get new curtains etc. before then, I remember the last time we had friends and family over for Thanksgiving . . . .
It was my Mom & Dad's year for Thanksgiving. (we swap holidays between our parents so we can have a holiday with each parent every year) Dad was out of town, Mom had to work and Scott & I were house/dog sitting for some friends of ours. We invited LeeAnne, John (a guy LeeAnne & I both worked with at Wal-Mart) & my sister, but for some reason I'm thinking she wasn't able to make it, however, I could be wrong about that.
LeeAnne, Scott & I spent the day arranging/making dinner & making sure everything was together. After a wonderful meal, we all pitched in to clean-up the mess and relax watching the football game or doing whatever. Well, our friends that we were house sitting for, at this point had not yet remodeled the kitchen. The garbage disposal decided to take a dump on us and plug up the kitchen sink, so we couldn't even flush clean water down the pipes. We ended up washing all the dishes in the bathroom tub. It was quite the event.
This year, as I don't think I'll be able to get the painting done, I'm hoping that's all that will be "wrong" with the holiday. We are uber excited that family is coming to our place for the holidays. Maybe we'll go out and cut a real tree to set up for Christmas that afternoon. Nah!! That would required some exercise and I'm pretty sure I'm allergic to that. Oh, I guess it's just dogs and cats, phooey!!
