So this weekend was the very FIRST time that Scott and I have gone camping by ourselves (with our kids of course). At any rate, I would have to say overall it was a success.
Friday we got where we were going, finally got backed into a spot, paid for the spot and set up the camper. Scott and Brian started a fire while I dug out the dishes and food for supper. After a while and being totaly exhausted I fell into bed, Scott and the kids stayed up for a while and then they too went to bed.
Sabbath morning we didn't drag our sorry rears out of bed until we had to. Of course Brian was up at dawn's butt-crack and trying to wake everyone else up as well. We finally got up and had breakfast around 9am. After that we took a nice long (motor)bike ride thru the forest. Of course it was to short for Scott, but I think in the end he was thankful I decided to turn around when we did. Any how . . . . we got back to the camper to have lunch. I started pulling all the stuff out of the refrigerator for lunch and found out that our haystacks were missing lettuce, tomatoes and onions. Yes, Scott packed everything or I should say ALMOST everything in the camper while I was at work Friday morning. After lunch we finally got the kids to lay down for a little nap, so we took one as well. That evening Scott made a nice sized fire and we had hamburgers. After standing (yes he forgot the chairs too) around the fire for several hours (he forgot games as well) we headed into the camper for some shut eye.
Sunday morning it seemed like we were in bed until 10am but in reality we were up, ate breakfast, broke camp and were on the road around 9:30am.
It was, I would have to say, a pretty successful camping trip. Except for the few "minor" things Scott forgot to pack. Oh and I want you all to know that I had EVERYTHING stacked on the same shelf in the refrigerator. Infact, the lettuce, tomatoes and onions are still sitting on that same shelf as I'm typing this.
:o)

Saturday night, sometime in the middle of the night, it started to rain a little bit. Staci woke up and sat bolt upright in bed and cried out, "Oh crap!" or something like that. Apparently she was under the impression that the camper was on fire or something. After settling my heart rate back down to normal, it was really quite funny!

He, he, he, - that is quite hilarious. Sounds like something I'd do waking from a dead sleep.
Reads like y'all had a pretty good trip. Wish we could'a joined ya!
I bet on the next camping trip - Scot-tay doesn't forget those things he forgot this time! :)
