I've Been on the Beach

Yup, I've been on the beach. South Beach that is. I haven't gotten a tan, but I've lost a few pounds. I started last Monday and in one week I've lost 6 pounds. I'm hoping to loose at least that this week. I'll try to keep you all posted. The great thing about the South Beach diet is you get to eat. Yup, you sure do!! For phase 1 you can't eat any sugar or carbs. Unfortunately that includes fruit, potatoes, carrot, corn & obviously bread. However, once I get to phase 2 I can start eating some of those things. Of course you have to be conservative, but at least it's not totally out of the question. Then phase 3 is the "maintenance" phase. But if you just make sure you eat right and good portions, you'll be set for life. I first started seriously thinking about doing a diet when I looked into the mirror and saw that my arms and chin looked like they were growing rapidly in size. I also started thinking about the fact that my mothers dad and my dad both have/had trouble with blood sugar & diabetes. So I took action. I'm hoping to get down to the weight I was when I got pregnant with both the kids, but I we'll see.
