surfs up

Not that you care a whole lot, but I thought I'd start posting some things that I find of interest on ye olde internets. Just little snippets here and there that don't take long to post, but at least add something new to the page. So, here are several things I've found over the past several days.

Well, first of all, being a movie guy, the death of Heath Ledger is big news. Everyone is calling it a great tragedy and is all tore up about it. And yeah, it totally sucks. But in my not so humble opinion, anyone that kills themselves with drugs isn't someone that I'm going to waste a lot of time mourning over. That being said, he was a good actor and after The Dark Knight comes out this year we won't be enjoying any more movies with him in them. Sad. There are reports all over the net about all of this, but I like this one, it's more of a tribute than a report.

Have you guys heard about the Amazon Kindle? I first saw it on the cover of Newsweek and the accompanying article was quite good. I think it's pretty neat, and would love to have one. I don't expect, or necessarily want it to replace actual books, but it would still be a handy dandy thing to have if you like reading. Stephen King took it for a test drive and wrote about it for Entertainment Weekly. It's a nice, honest little opinion piece from the point of view of an author and reader.

I got a lot of this first batch of links from surfing the Entertainment Weekly website. I don't go there often though, mainly because there is way too much content to keep up with! Anyway they had a list of the best fan sites on the web and a few of them jumped out at me to share with people that I knew liked some of these shows.

That's all for this time. Enjoy! Oh, and let me know what you think about any or all of this, not to mention the idea in general. Thanks.

The Bro-in-law:

Cool man. I took a moment or two and looked at the TARfiles and the info on the Dunder Mifflin Co. Yeah I'm an Office fan! Sorry!

Thanks for sharing. I may not hit all the links/info you put up - but it is interesting!

Bro:

I guess it just came out that Heath might have died of natural causes that the sleeping pills only aided in and there were no traces of anything at toxic levels in his system. hmmmmmm

Stac mentioned something about that yesterday. I looked today and wasn't able to find anything like that, so we'll see. Last I heard it would take 10 days for test results to come back...
