Shooting Star

So I made it up to Jackson and we got the apartment set up. It is definitely cozy. Today I spent most of the day looking through the paper and applying for different jobs I filled out 9 applications so I am hoping to hear back from somewhere in the next 2 days or so. Deva had 4 treatments toady and has been at the spa since 11:30 I have to go and get him around 7. I am getting familiar with the town, it just takes some getting used to is all. I also went to the grocery store today. I have my pick between Smith's or Albertsons. It has finally started to snow up here which should really help with the season picking up. Other than that not much is happening. Hope all is well with everyone back home.

Today I had two job interviews. One was a second interview with the bank. They were going to check my references and I should hear back from them in a day or so. The second was with one of the resorts to work the front desk. It's a pretty swanky place. Both are full time and offer benefits, but I am hoping for the bank job. The job at the resort is an hour ride by bus although I would get a free bus pass. When I got home from my interviews I had 2 messages to set up interviews with 2 other places for a receptionist job, So 50% of the people I applied with have contacted me to set up an interview for the job. By this time next week I should be started with my job. Hope everyone is doing well.

I have since last week had one job offer. (Snake River Lodge and Spa, for front desk) and have been to 2 more interviews, with 2 more this week, one being a third at the bank. It seems that when I interviewed with the head teller she thought that I may be better in the bookkeeping department so tomorrow I have an interview with the head bookkeeper. Then from there hopefully the bank will offer me a job. I have not yet accepted at SNLS because I have until Friday to do so and I am hoping to have something in town lined up by then so that I do not have to add 2 hours bus time to my 8 hour days out there, but we will see what happens.

You are reading the blog page of Jackson State Bank & Trust's newest bookkeeper. That is right the third interview sealed the deal. So I start the job tomorrow morning and will be working 8-5 Monday thru Friday from here forward. I also we be making $0.50 more an hour than I would at Snake River. Plus it is a 3 block walk from the house. Anyway Deva and I went and had Chinese tonight in celebration. That is the latest news from here in the Hole will keep you all posted.

Two days into the job and I love it! I am starting to get the hang of the computer system and Tuesday I will start to take phone calls, the bookkeeping department is in charge of routing the phone calls for the bank. This is due to the fact that 80% of the calls end up in bookkeeping anyway. Most people would probably find the job tedious but so far I love it! Today I spent the day comparing signatures on checks and filing new accounts, and pulling closed accounts. Other than that I have learned a few of the basic computer things. That is what is going on in the Hole, I will keep you all posted.

I am getting use to the job and still love it. It is nice and I like all of my co-workers which makes it nice. Not much other than that is going on here, but it is my friend's B-Day is today so we are all going to go and have dinner at Ocean City the Chinese resturant that Deva and I have found here.I am really enjoying the fact that I have weekends off and I am off by 5 so I have time to cook dinner and enjoy my evenings. That is about all that is going on in the Hole. It was actually warm today, 19 degrees! It is quite the warm spell from our -10ish weather from the last week. I will keep you all updated.

Deva got me my Christmas present now that we are all settled in and everything is moving right along. Anyway he got me DDR Max with 2 dance pads for the PS2. I love it! I have played it almost everyday since I got it. Which was Tuesday. I actually played for an hour or two Tuesday. It is a blast and now part of my workout routine, I have been doing Body By Glamour and then the DDR Max. It's been fun.
