Poor Duke

I would guess by the heading for this blog you may have already guessed. Duke now sings soprano. He has lost his manlyhood for good. Now, for the rest of the story...

We were set up to take Duke in tomorrow and get his pins out. We took a x-ray friday and it shows his leg all grown togather. That was good news because I am soooo soooo tired of being poked with his pins. Amy stopped by this morning and we went with her to look at some animals and do a Coggins test on a horse. I told her I wasn't busy today and she said she had a dog to neuter and maybe later. Well, she called me any asked me to help her and then she would do Duke. Charley, our patient was a 4-5 yr old Aussie Shepard/Rottie mix, manhood intact and never been vaccanated. The dog lived in spite of the fact I was there and we started on Duke. We knocked him out and Amy removed one of his baby fang and we started on his pins. First one came right out no problem. Second one was stuck alittle but came out ok. I took out number three and Amy took out the other fang tooth. Number four was out next and I moved his leg around to see if he had full mobility. Amy moved to the other end and went to work on his pride and joy. We had the first one out and I noticed he wasn't breathing. So while I worked on adjusting his gases and Ox and doing his breathing for him Amy finished the other end. It all went pretty well to tell the truth and yes Tim I even watched and kept my eyes open!!!

In the morning we sign paperwork on this house and in one week we sign for the other. I may or maynot leave out tomorrow depending on wether or not Kelly found me a short run. Duke is sleeping in my lap and the world goes round and round.

Later...
