Alot to say
It isn't that I have had nothing to tell you about, just no time. In fact, this is the first time in 2 weeks that I have had a chance to get my computer out of it's travel case! Seriously! So let's try to play catch up.
Couple of week ago I finally nailed down Amy long enough to go for a ride. Yup, finally got to use my saddle. I rode Brutus and that was an experience. NEVER stopped pulling on the reins and trying to run. Talk about work!! But had a great ride and now Amy knows better what I can handle. She kept asking me if I wanted to trade, I was working so hard.
This last week-end Amy had ordered water to irrigate the pasture. Only problem she planned to be in CA that Sunday. OK, so I get to play farmer. WoooHooo. The pasture hasn't been farmed in at least 15-18 years. Took Sue and I a bit to figure things out but we did get water on some of it. The ditches are really old and need to be pulled again to make water flow right but we did what we could. Ditch Rider showed up because someone down the line was getting flooded out because we weren't taking our water!
Our plans (Sue and I) for the last seveal years has been to get a 5th wheel. I wanted one before we bought the pop-up but couldn't talk Sue into it at the time. She realized her mistake after first time out, no pottie! We are always pointing all the 5th wheels out to each other and have looked a couple of times just for the heck of it. After we sent the Coleman home with Scott & Staci we had no reason not to look again. Don't get me wrong, there was nothing wrong with the Coleman. It just did not fit our needs any longer. Looked at several 5th wheels last week-end and the price is down because gas is up. Found one we liked but didn't have any slideout, but was really really nice even tho it was old. Very well taken care of, lots of windows so you don't miss the slideout at all. Found it on line and went and took a look. They were asking $8995 online, when we got there found out it was $11,900! Then we had another problem.
When we were hunting online I brought up the subject of maybe we should look at a p/u camper. How often were we really going to use it verus cost and so on. We found a couple problems - being, we could buy a 5th wheel cheaper and have alot more room. We told the saleman that we wanted to go look at a couple of p/u campers and he got right down to business. What would it take to keep us there and give him an offer. Got it for $7500 WITH a gooseneck conversion!!! So all 'n all I think we did ok.
Extremely busy week-end going. Water again tomorrow, Mom's coming to dinner, need to pick Brian up, Tim coming up to do woodworking and take me to Father's Day brunch plus more. Oh, go to Sue's blog if you want to see some picks of 5th wheel.
Later...
