Well we finally got into the computer on my truck and turned it up to 75 plus turn some other things on and some off( like the 5 min idle shutdown!). I thought it was alittle better until the drive home, but let me go back and start at the beginning. I went back to same place I was last week. Appt time was the same(4 am) but no one came in till 6:30 last week so when I rolled in at 4:30 and they were setting around waiting for me I was alittle surpised. Got a few hours of sleep and at 11 preplan came thru- Corona, San Diego, Vernon. I was only 4 miles from the last one but both of the other ones closed at 3 and I was 50 miles from the first and 100 miles farther on to the second one and by 3? I didn't think it would happen but I'm always game to try. First one went on ok, 10 plts of bell peppers. Light load because I knew the next place was Aussie oranges again. Needless to say I didn't do the speed limit anytime on the way down and was there by 2! Ok, got right in a door, loaded and was gone. On the way out of town I noticed my load gauge was indicating I was heavy in the nose of trailer, nothing I could do because I was sucked up all the way already. I was really tired so first rest area I came to I stopped and took a nap. I knew I had a scales right ahead of me but didn't think I was "that" much over. Thank the good Lord it was closed when I got their(it's NEVER closed!). Made it back up to Vernon by 8:30 and had them pull some oranges off, put their really light stuff in and then reload oranges. Load gauge said I was perfect so left. I caught Cajon closed and was still wondering how much I really weight so weight at Pilot at top of hill. Oh Lord, 84,600# with less than 1/4 of a tank of fuel! Shit now what do I do? Think... St. George, UT is the only one that will cruifey me, I can get around Loma and Dumont will be closed when I get their so go with it. If I drive all night and don't stop I might be able to catch St. Geo closed(I knew they normally closed from midnight till 5 am). Give her hell and hope for the best, so I did. Made St. Geo by 5:32 and thank you Lord they were still closed! Made it to the other side od town and pulled off on a ramp and slept on and off till 10. Time to get moving, called Darrell and he was at his office getting his truck worked on so made arangements to meet up with him. Now for the part about the truck not doing so good... the hills in Utah just killed me, 18-22mph over them. Suddenly I had become the slow guy crawling over the hills that I hate so much. Oh well, life goes on. What the hell did I expect when I traded in my CAT for a piece of shit Cummins? Got what I had coming. Met Darrell and we got into Denver at about midnight. When my alarm went off at 5, I sat up in bed and couldn't figure out where I was or why I was getting up then! It all finally came back to me, I hate it when that happens. Shows a gross amount of lack of sleep!
In other news, when I got home I got the license plates switched over on the Durango. When Sue got off work we went and found a toolbox for my p/u. Where else but HD! Tomorrow I think we are all going down to the state fair. Enough for now, Later...
