Great Week

As you all know this week I took Brian out on the truck with me. We had a very good time and all week long I only had to "get in his face" once and I don't even remember what it was for. We did alittle grocery shopping before we left, I was worried about him getting hungry all the time. Didn't happen. I stocked my refrig up with juice for him(I know he drinks alot of it) and off we went. I told him their was no restrictions on anything. If you felt like something, don't ask just go get it. Believe it or not that actually worked out great. By the time we crossed the border out of Colorado he had opened up every box in the truck and sampled it. Didn't bother me any, that was the rules!

We stopped in Boise City, OK for something and we bought a sweatshirt for Brian that said Oklahoma on it. I keep the truck really cool inside, I just feel so much better physically. The sweatshirt was fuzzy inside so all was well.

Blew a drive tire sometime in the night so stopped in Santa Rosa, NM and had it replaced. Brian ate more than I did for breakfast! We made a few other stops for this and that but one thing became very clear in short order. The shoes with laces would have to go! We stopped in Winslow, Az at a truck stop right next door to Wal-Mart and fixed him right up. Course we found a few other thing that we just couldn't pass up :).

By this time we are running behind schedule but oh well, we're having fun. Brian would disappear for long stretches of time, Saga and then a nap. We delivered only 10 minutes late, got to see a couple ocean cargo ships in dock. My reload was a drop & hook in Ontario for Kmart in Brighton. Some how he had it in his head that when we got back I was suppose to drop him off at Uncle Tim & Mary's for the night. We skipped supper but made it back by 8pm.

I took a nap, I was so tired and slept thro my alarm so didn't deliver as early as I wanted too in Brighton. By the time I got back into Denver it was only an hour before Tim was going to wake me up so I just stayed at the yard. I had 3 days worth of logs to catch up and the truck was trashed BAD so got all that done and went into the office to pick up paycheck. Boss had stepped out so figured I'd run the rest of Brians stuff over to him and come back for paycheck. Sat and had a real nice chat with Mary(she brought me coffee!) and ran back over to office. The boss asked me if I was doing anything(a loaded question) and I asked him what was up. He told me to go over to the yard and look up truck #1064 and move into it, they had just finished putting the QualComm in it. Well I'm not one to pass that one up. To make a long story short, 5 hr later I was moved. Just threw everything in, the guy who was getting my truck sat and waited all afternoon for his "new" truck. I put 360188 miles on it between Nov.4,2002 and Aug.5,2005. The new truck is a 2006.

Man oh man

Soooooo much has happened so fast as you probably already know from other blog. Let me add my two cents worth. This may get lengthy so here goes.

I was setting at the Pilot T/S in Hespia, CA when Sue called me thursday after I got loaded. I couldn't believe I sat their for 24 hrs for 50 damn kegs of beer going all the way to Washington, D C! Anyway, she asked me when I was going to be home. I had already told her friday am. She wanted to know when friday. Ok, red flags are already going up. My first question was why, whats up? Well, you need to be here by 4pm to sign closeing papers on the combined house loans! Oh, shit... that's less than 24 hrs.! So I better get my butt in gear.

At about 8 am friday morning I was wondering where Scott & Staci were so I called them. They were coming thru Delta so I told them to hurry up and catch up. Later we agreed to meet in Glenwood Springs where Scott and Brian got on the truck with me to keep me awake. We rolloed into Denver at 1 pm. First hurdle crossed.

Got to the house at 3, jumped in shower and we were out of the house by 3:20. Made a stop at the bank, picked up Scott & Stacie(S&S) new insurance card at Calvins office and made the closing by 3:55. On the way out we stopped at the light their at Bockman(next to Toys R Us) and what is right ahead of us...DODGE! I told Sue we ought to just stop in and see what they had, we don't have to buy anything. So we drove in and of course the vultures attacked. Told them what we were looking for and he had 3 their, but only one in the price range that we wanted to stay in. When Sue got in she jumped right back out and said that that wasn't going to work, she could smell the cigerette smell so bad. So he went to get the keys to another which was close to what we wanted price wise and came back with two other guts with keys and they drove off in the other 2 pick ups. Come to fine out all 3 were going to the auction that night. So if we wanted it we had to make the deal right then. Not a good way to do things but what can I say. We told him that we had to come home and figure things and you all know how that went over. We phoned called back and forth 5 or 6 times and they asked when could we be back up there. In the conversion with the finanal manger Sue was pretty heated up and flat asked the guy if it was going to auction anyway why couldn't we just save them the trouble and buy it at auction price? They finely did sell it to us that way. Sue and I stripped the old cars in 5 min. flat, then I put shell back on p/u and we were there by 8:10. I blew the sales guy away when I walked up to him and told him if he wanted to sell that p/u he had to deal with Sue, I was so tird at this point I was damn near oblivious to everything. Anyway, at 10:30 we signed the papers and their was still another couple after us. You would never know that they closed at 8:30!

So yesterday after lunch we lined all the Dodges up and took a pic. Ran all over in MY p/u last night an picked up Jodi, stopped at DQ. Phone rang while we were setting their and Jesse had come down from camping it was so cold and wet.

Now we are just setting back and rehashing all the stuff that happened over the last week. Man oh man , LATER...

Made it thru another one

This week I took Jesse out with me. We had a good week. Ended up setting for a day to reload and went to San Diego where we saw some Navy ships coming in and out of the harbor. Then on the way back we picked up James and brought him back with us. But the best part of the week was getting to drive my pick up! Pretty sad ain't I? In other news, my truck didn't get turned up this pass monday. Someone has put a password in it's computer and now we can't do anything.

Also I got a printout of how our p/u came orginally equiped. Wouldn't you know that one of our options was an additional 8 gallon of fuel tank! Great, now instead of $80 it's $100 to fill. But no keyless entry. Don't you think it would look good with a chrome brush guard? Have to work on that one.

Thats about it, I'm tired and ready for some peace and quite. Later...

Fun day

Today was kind of a fun day. We went up and picked up Pat and went to HD and spent her money! We got a corner shower, a Euro vanity, a new toilet, shower fixture, faucets, towel rack, just a lot of fun. When we got back to her place we took down her ceiling fan and put up a new one. Then hung a new beautiful pic of a deer she had. Came home and mowed the lawn and went over to the horses and mowed weed over there. Sure looks better. Hope to get truck turned up tomorrow. Everyone have a great week. Later...
