to the love of my life....
Today the groundhog saw his shadow, meaning that there is 6 more weeks of winter. This is a holiday that I just don't understand. I don't understand it for 2 reasons:
1. If you see your shadow, that means the sun is out. Meaning its probably not snowing.
2. If you look at the calender, Spring comes March 20th... (6 weeks and 4 days from today...)
So why do we need an oversized rodent to tell us that winter isn't over yet?
that my birthday always gets forgotten...
I come home from work today and there is a balloon and note taped to the door wishing Erik a happy birthday FROM THE APARTMENT COMPLEX..... So I left it there so Erik can find it...
I never got one.... I do think it is a nice gesture since this is our last month here at The Lodge....
Yesterday was day 45 of above normal tempertures. But they are saying that its going to end, possibly by Sunday.
I have really enjoyed this winter's weather. I really don't like to drive in the snow. But I guess I didn't think I'd get away with out having to.
In other news, Erik and I are on our way to hottness... We started working out at Prairie Life Center. I gave up halfway on WW, not because it wasn't working. But good news, since the last time I went to WW I have lost 4 pounds. YAY ME!!!
I hate getting up this dang early on Saturday mornings....
Saturday, Erik and I were in the mood for some juvenile humor so we watched American Pie, American Pie 2 and American Wedding.
Sunday we worked out at the gym. I lost another 3 pounds. WOOHOO! That's 7 total for you that are playing the at home game.
We watched the Superbowl. I was alittle disappointed, I was rooting for The Seahawks since it was the Steelers who took it away from Denver. How cool would that be? The Broncos at the Superbowl in Detroit? There would be no talking to Steve (Erik's brother) He would be absolutly insane, since he lives in the Detroit area and he is such a HUGE Bronco fan.
Hope you all had a great weekend....

Last night Erik and I watched the Grammy's. I wasn't overly impressed by the whole thing. I know its all about music but I think there was alittle to many performances and not enough award giving.
My favorite performances were Madonna, Kelly Clarkson, Paul McCartney and U2. I could have done without Bruce Springstein and Mariah Carey, I find them both to be uber annoying.
I was so happy Kelly Clarkson won 2 Grammy's. But I was disappointed that Gwen Stefani didn't win any, she looked so beautiful.
Now I get to look forward to the Oscar's, I'll have to prepare my speech... Hmmm... I'd like to first thank the Acadamy....
There are 2 t-shirts form this Hairstylist website that I really want to get. They say:
"Quit your bitchen', you did it in the kitchen"
"Chemically Dependant"
I think they are quite funny... In other news I got my hair colored yesterday, (because I am chemically dependant) and now I'M A BLONDE! I'll figure out how to add a pic later...
The house hunt is over, yesterday we signed a lease on the house that we really wanted. Moving day is the 25th. We have a ton of packing to do. Our friends, Jason, Jeff and Ty are lending a hand and Jeff is even borrowing a big ass truck from his work.
We are super excited, it has a fenced in yard so we can just let Sproket out and not have to walk him around in the freezing weather on a leash. You cannot know how tired of that we are.
Here's a pic of our new home...

Got this from Tim, thought it was super funny and I should share it with everyone....
For a couple years I've been blaming it on lack of sleep, not enough sunshine, too much pressure from my job, earwax build-up, poor blood or anything else I could think of. But now I found out the real reason:
I'm tired because I'm overworked.
Here's why:
9 more days that we have to live right above these obnoxious people that slam doors, holler and scream at the top of their lungs and play music at all hours. I swear, they are the rudest bunch. There is a mom, 2 girls, 1 boy, I think the dad (of one of the girls) and another man, that half the time has his 2 girls that all live in this 2 bedroom beneath us. And they have 2 dogs, one of which is a pit bull...
Do you think I am excited to move?
Seriously, 2 days ago it was 11 degrees at 2 in the afternoon, right now its 46 degrees. I wish it would just find a happy place and stay there. (preferably in the 50's)
Did you know that Stryper is still making music? I used to listen to them all the time...
I really hate packing and moving... We are at the point where if we keep packing we will have nothing out. But there are still 5 days left and we need things. I just wish we were moved already...
Hey, this is my 800th post... WOW...
I bought and watched "Just Like Heaven" over the weekend. I saw it in the theatres and really liked it, I also read the book a year or so ago.
That's all for now, enjoy the rest of the day, even if it is a Monday...
YAY! We are moving on Saturday! We are so excited to be in our new house. There is one slight downside... We will be without TV and internet from Saturday til Tuesday. Good thing we have more DVDs that Blockbuster... and so many boxes to unpack...
This is going to be my last post til then. (I'm pretty sure) So miss me while I'm gone!!
Ok, so I know I said I wasn't going to post again til after we moved and got re-connected. But something incredible happened today, and I might still cry.
(insert sad, sad music here)
Ya see, when we left Colorado, we left everyone behind. Erik knew some guys here, but I didn't know anyone. I have spent the last year very lonely. I really didn't ask to come here and be super popular, just a friend or two would be nice.
Well about 6 months ago I started doing this gal's hair and we hit it off good. Then a month ago she brought one of her co-workers to me, and we hit it off really well. Then Saturday she (the new gal) brought in her cousin, Aunt and mom to meet me. I did the cousin's hair and tonight I did her mom and Aunt's hair. Well of course they loved me too...
(insert happy music here)
Well.... They invited me into their group of friends. Once a year in July they go away to Ogalala for a long weekend. No guys... And they get together several times a year just girls night out. AND I GOT INVITED INTO THE GROUP!!! I almost cryed! Really...
It was awesome, I have been praying that I would meet someone for along time now. Not that my husband isn't a good enough friend, girls just need girlfriends. And now I have some. I do really miss my friends back home but now I'm not so lonely here...
Ok, well not entirely. I still have to go back to the apartment and clean out the fridge and finish cleaning the kitchen. It should only take an hour or less... But we are offically moved. We now have internet and cable. The Time Warner guy just left. I did wait til he got out of the driveway to fire it up. I was going thru serious internet withdrawls.
I am a bit disappointed with you all... I've been gone for 4 days and
Not. one. single. comment.
Fine be that way.
