Grapevine...

I have heard thru the grapevine of some extremely exciting news about someone in the familyblog ring. But...

No family blogs have made mention of this so I wonder if the news has really offically been released. (Unless my sources were misinformed...)

So I guess I will remain quiet on the subject til further notice.

But to those involved, know this... I am extremely excited for you!!

Tuesday, Tuesday... Read all about it...

Ok, we haven't played this game in a while....

tuesday is chooseday

either leave your answers or a link to your webpage with your responses.

    Would you rather:
  1. wear underwear made out of fur OR bubblegum?
  2. have a complete stranger walk up and french kiss you OR get licked on your naked butt by a strange dog?
  3. put curry on everything you eat OR touch everything to your chin before putting it in your mouth?
  4. make a funny face and have it stay that way OR lie and have your pants light on fire?

WWIII

I started Weight Watcher's again. First meeting was on Monday. The scale is an evil, evil thing... I have hit an all time high. UGH!!! I'm not saying that number out loud. Its not that bad only 4 pounds heavier that when I left WW last April.

Anyway, this time HAS to work... 3rd time is a charm right?

Huge Compliment...

Ok, I wasn't going to blog about this but you all know already how fabulous I am, so why not...

Last week a topic came up between the owner of the salon and I. And she was saying how she thought so-n-so (we'll say Sally) was the greatest hairstylist that ever walked the planet and then she goes on to tell me how I spin circles around "Sally". WOW! Man... that is just huge...

(insert hairstylist technical mumbo jumbo here)
She was saying how it was awesome that I can do blonde highlights and I never have to tone them, they always look the blonde that I want without all this added effort. And "Sally" has to tone each and every one of her blondes and she's never once seen me do it... She just kept going on and on about how great of a hairstylist I am.... WOW... That just really made my day.

I look at my work and say "Yeah, that looks good but I could have done this differentor better..." But when some one who you have alot of respect for says that you are a much better stylist than this other one you have alot of respect for. That's just cool...

Also, some things have changed at work for the better... The receptionist left (that's not the good part) The owner doesn't want to hire a new one right now and she knows that I am struggling to build a clientele. So I am going to be handling alot of the receptionist duties. Which means I have to show up earlier, close out the money drawer from the night before and get the salon ready to go for the day and help the owner and manager with anything else. I am now 3rd in command of the salon. She will hire someone when my books fill up and I have too many clients to do both jobs.

Let the Delurking Begin

Come out, come out, wherever you are...

Sheryl declares it De-lurking week.

So be a dear and let me know you were here...

Lipgloss

I just had a really bad scare... I thought I lost my new favorite lipgloss. Yea, I know what you are thinking, but to me its a tragedy. I am seriously addicted to lipgloss. At one time there was 26 lipgloss in my purse. (I even have witness's to the fact)

Well I have found (thanks to my daughters) the best lipgloss. I could even maybe throw out all the others I have stockpiled. Well, maybe.

I know right now you are wondering why I took the time to even blog this, but dang it, it is an issue that needs to be covered. When a girl finds a good lipgloss it is her duty to inform all the other lipgloss junkies (hey that would be a cool name for my chic band) out there...

Maybelline Wet Shine Diamonds Liquid.

There is a downside... no flavor.

The ULTIMATE...

in Hairstylist nerdiness....

The UPS guy just dropped off my Birthday present from Erik. I have wanted this since first seeing it at a hair show. The Catty Bag has over 45 compartments for all the necessary items that any proper hairstylist nerd needs to have readily available. There are even a few places for lipgloss!

Trust me, you may never know a bigger hairstylist nerd...

WW weigh in #2

Tonight I went to my second WW meeting.

+2 pounds

This is not going the direction I wanted. But I did drink a gallon of water today. Really, I filled my water bottle 4 times that equals 1 gallon.

(WOW, this is my 4th post today. Guess I had alot to say... Did you even post today?)

The power of 4

This is a little meme I took from Isabel.

4 jobs I have had in my life...
Concession stand clerk at the Drive-in Theatre
Telemarketor
Produce chick at the grocery store
Hairstylist

(Keep going, you know you want to...)

Double Whammy

I am the happiest girl in the world today... Erik recorded a hockey game for me.

The Colorado Avalanche ~VS~ The Philidelphia Flyers.... (My two favorite teams on Nebraska TV)

I can't help but think that a small corner of hell has frozen over...

Cold Season

Yesterday I was minding my own business, cleaning house and a cold snuck in somehow. In the middle of the afternoon I started to have a sore throat and a stuffy nose... I always thought cold crept in during the middle of the night.

Anyway I couldn't sleep last night because my stuffy nose made me snore alittle and that would wake me up.

There has been a few of the girls at work with colds and I guess some at Erik's work too. I went to Target and hooked us up with some Zicam spray. Never tried it before but its suposed to "actually shorten the cold". We'll just see about that.

AT&T ~VS~ Cingular

Could they make it any more difficult? Maybe its just because I have a cold and find it terribly hard to consintrate and think clearly. (and spell)

A while back (last month) Erik's cell phone self-distructed. We didn't have the money to get new ones, or to pay our bill to get new free ones.

We were with AT&T before they were bought by Cingular sometime last year, I think. So our bill has beed caught up. And for the past few days I have been trying to upgrade to get the new free phones and re-sign up for 2 more years of servatude to Cingular. But we are still on the "AT&T side" (their words, not mine) and its difficult.

AND we still had our numbers form Colorado, which appently we can't keep being we are in the Nebrasska service area. So we can't do the upgrade for another 24-48 hours (I'll have to call back), but we did get new numbers. I can't remember what the deal was on Saturday but they had to do something and I had to wait 72 hours to call back.

Saturday I was on the phone with them for about 30 minutes, most of it on hold. Today I was on the phone with them for 45 minutes again most of it on hold. And I have to call back. UGH!! And when I get the new free phones how much you wanna bet I'll have to give them a call again...

And I have to get ahold of I don't know how many people to tell them our new numbers. OY!

Cingular update

We should have our new free Cingular phones in 3-5 days. YIPPEE!! I called them as scheduled (in 24-48 hours)and actually got to talk to the one person there who was conciderate and knew what she was doing. She actually took the time to answer my questions and explain things... WOW!

Our bill will stay about the same amount BUT we'll have an extra 150 minutes...And Roll over minutes. That's what I'm excited about, the rollover minutes. Because we mainly just use the phones to talk to each other and that's free. So I wonder how many minutes I can stockpile....

This is starting to sound like a commercial ad so I think I'll end it now.

Weekend Update

My mom came for a visit this weekend. She got here Friday afternoon. She brought me 2 gallons of my favorite Colorado treat... Bing Cherry Cider!! mmmmmm....

Saturday she came with me to work, we had breakfast at the coffee shop next door. Then I did her hair. (color and a new sassy cut)

Sunday we drove to Iowa to take the girls out for lunch at Applebee's.

Today we have done some window shopping at the malls and of course lunch at Panera Bread.

She leaves in the morning.

Not so exciting update...

Nothing really that exciting going on, but I'll tell ya anyway...

Our new Cingular phones came yesterday. So we spent most of the evening setting them up.... I am totally loving mine. (it has a camera phone)

We went to CiCi's (pizza buffet) for dinner last night.

And my Mom left bright and early this morning....

Trivial

I totally took this from Rude Cactus... Very interesting things I never knew about myself....

Forgotten Blog

There was something of interest that I wanted to post about and I didn't do it right away.

So therefore, its gone now.....

Oh... not related... But Can you believe it was 66 degrees yesterday? WOW!

Fast Weekend

This weekend went by fast. Well they all do when you work on one of the days. I had a full load at work yesterday, and that was nice.... Then Erik and I went to look at a house for rent. (our lease ends the end of Feb, and we are moving)

This house that we checked out was AWESOME! We filled out an application. Please remember us in your prayers, we'd really like to get this house. It has a big front room, oversized master bedroom, very nice kitchen and a second bedroom on the main floor. One bathroom. There is a basement with a huge family room and a laundry room and a seperate office/storage room. Also it has a detached garage and a nice fenced backyard. It is right at the max of our "budget" that we think we can spend. We would like to be spending less but this is a real nice one and its worth a couple hundred more, really.

We did look at a complete crap hole too... Not even gonna go there...

Today was a nice hang out around the house day... Didn't do anything.

Right now we are watching "Serenity" for the umpteenth time....

Hope you all had a great weekend!
