The End....

Man! I woke up with a terrible screaming headache this morning. And I know why.

I was having one of those end of the world, we're all gonna die, somebody save us dreams... It was so realistic. I'm sure its because we watched "War of the Worlds" over Thanksgiving. It just needed a week to soak in I guess.

Feels like a hangover... So I'll take some vitamin I and call it good... (what did I drink last night anyway? oh yeah water and powerade... hmmm)

Christmas List...

My Christmas list is a very small one, there just isn't much that I want this year...

Here is one thing that I really want.

Here is another thing I really want...

Other than that, there isn't many specific things I want. I wouldn't mind the following...

Gift card to World Market
Gift card to Pier 1 Imports
Gift card to Target
Gift card to Hobby Lobby

Things I enjoy...
Supplies to make glass beaded jewelry
Supplies to do scrapbooking
Tinkerbell collectibles
Fairy collectibles

I really don't want any clothing unless its an Avalanche Hoodie. Or possible a Flyers Hoodie...(or really anything with the number 21 on it!) (Like a jersey!)

Oh well, there ya have it....

T.G.I.F.

I took this from Amy...

1. If you were to produce a concert featuring any three artists/musicians, who would you choose?

Duran Duran, Bon Jovi, Poison... (totally 80's!)

2. If you were to star in a film with a sizzling love scene opposite any actor/actress, who would you choose?

Hmmmm... that's tough... I'll say Vin Diesel... (mmmm... that bod!)

3. If you were to record a duet with any singer, who would it be with and what song would you choose?

Jon Bon Jovi

4. If you were to own any of the current professional sports teams, which would you choose?

Colorado Avalanche. (DUH!)

5. If you were to own a franchise of any business in the world, which would you choose?

World Market or Pier 1... I love imports!

Weather Pixie

Since I don't have my little weather pixie to the left anymore I have to do the report for her. Considering how freakin' cold it is I think she would have quit doing it anyway.

Right now it is:
1 degree, wind chill -11 and get ready for this, the high for today is 8 degrees!

My question is, how long will this winter crap be?

Crappy day

Yesterday started out to be the worst day I have had in a long time.... I went out to start my car and it was dead. And that was enough to set me over the edge. I came back upstairs to the apt and called my boss. I was crying. It was just the last straw to a pretty bad week or so. I have been pretty down because its been super slow at work. There was 3 days last week that I did absolutly NOTHING.

She sent our receptionist to come get me. When we got about 4 blocks from work the boss called and told the receptionist that someone just called and booked a color/highlight with me.

It was an old client from the salon I worked at just before coming to this one. I haven't seen her since July. It made my day. We just got along instantly from day one and its like we have been friends for years. She really reminds me alot of my dear Jamie. But don't worry Jamie, she won't take away your BFF status...

So anyway my totally crappy day turned out to be not so bad.

P.s.
A big HI! to Dorothy who signed my map!

HP4

Finially we got to see Harry Potter 4.

WOW! I really liked this one. It doesn't hurt that so far it was my favorite of the books. I thought they did a good job with the content of the movie and sticking to the book.

Still Cold....

In response to Scott about the cold.

My car hasn't started twice this week due to the cold crappyness that is Nebraska...

Car Trouble

Since it has been so freakin' cold here, my car wouldn't start 2 days last week. I had to get a ride to work from one of my co-workers. Erik and I jumped my car yesterday and I let it run for 15 minutes or so. But then about 3 hours later I tried to go somewhere and it was dead again.

I'm at a point where I just don't know what to do. There is a great lack of money and an even greater lack of knowing anyone who can help us out here.

So its been sort of a downer of a weekend.

Update

I took my car in to a shop yesterday. They checked the battery and the alternator. Both were good. But the battery connector dealies had alot of junk on them. So they cleaned them up.

I was so happy to hear that it wasn't going to cost me $200 or more. It eneded up being $14.... WOO HOO!!

Google Blank

Last night as I lay there in bed trying to sleep. Many thoughts were swimming around in my head. I was going to google one of those thoughts when I got up.

For the life of me I can't remember what it was....

DONE!

It is about 8 days before Christmas and I am DONE!!! I'm listening to "The Nutcracker" performed by the London Symphony Orchestra and I just finished wrapping. This is the earliest I have ever been done with my Christmas shopping.

I do feel like I am cheating alittle though. Erik and I are pretty darn broke (what's new) and we aren't getting each other anything. We are only concerned with making the holiday magical for the girls. Even though they are old enough and they know that Christmas isn't all about the presents and who spends more. But its about the birth of our Savior and its about being with family.

This will be the first year in 5 that I will actually spend Christmas day with them and I am excited... They will only be here for 4 days but I think we will have a good time.

This Christmas will be hard for Erik and I, just because we are so far from our families for the first time.

Cookies

Cherise has these favorite no-bake cookies that she wants to make while she is here. I can't find it in all my recipes. So I googled it and found the best website ever!

Look for yourself!

Birthday

Today is my birthday. I'm 35...

35?!?!?!

Well I guess the important thing is that I don't feel 35. But when I look down at my body and see how things have changed and shifted I feel it. I hate gravity.

Anyway I don't have any plans. I have to go to work. Erik has the day off, he had a couple of vacation days left that he has to get rid of before tomorrow. So he gets to have a fun day and I get to go to work on my birthday. Its not fair.

I'll give ya all a Christmas update later today, after work....

The Christmas Update...

(or as much as I can remember)

Our Christmas was very quiet and uneventful. Friday I drove to Iowa to get the girls. I picked them up from school. They made me come inside and meet some friends and see the school. WOW, its been a long time since I stepped foot in a high school.

Christmas Eve day I had to work a few hours. Cherise got up early and went with me. We had waffles at the coffee shop next door. We opened our Christmas gifts before going to a "Celtic Christmas" service at a Methodist church. The service was excellent. We all enjoyed in tremendously. Then we took a little drive to look at Christmas lights.

Christmas day, I cooked. (Erik and I just finsished up the leftovers tonight) We also played "Harry Potter Scene It", which was a gift from our friends, Tod and Laurie. (who live back home in Ft. Collins)

Monday, we went to Target to spend our gift cards. Later we went to see "The Chronicles of Narnia..." and ate at CiCi's pizza buffet.

Tuesday, I took the girls to the salon and did their hair. Both of them got new haircuts and highlights. They got to meet all my work family. Of course everyone loved them and are still telling me how pretty they are. Then we drove to take them back, with a stop in Omaha to say goodbye to Erik. Lucky for me he was just getting off work, so we made him go for the ride too...

It was so nice to see the girls and I wish they could stay longer. Even though it was pretty chaotic having teenagers around. Erik and I lead such a quiet existence that is is easily disturbed.

Happy Birthday Baby!

Today is Cherise's 14th birthday...

Hope you have a wonderful day...

I love you bunches!!
