Trick or Treat...

Last night was really pretty uneventful. We had exactly 0 trick-or-treaters.... yep, ZERO!! Not even the kid who lives on our floor.... I'm not sure yet if that was a trick or if it was a treat.... Oh well, I'm not big on the holiday anyway.

I did watch old scarey movies.

Pyscho
Village of the Damned
The Birds

So it wasn't a total bust of a night, I'm just now stuck with a bowl full of not my favorite candies....

Royally Screwed...

I screwed up BIG TIME at work yesterday. Didn't find out til I got there this morning.... I rung up 2 people who used credit cards and somehow instead of charging their cards I credited them. So instead of US getting money the salon paid them to have their hair done. And one of them wasn't my client.

I spent most of the day feeling really terrible because it took the owner HOURS on the phone to fix it. She reassured me that it was ok, she just never had this happen so it took longer....

So now the work day is over and I can look ahead to tomorrow.

Pathetic...

Erik and I were both in bed BEFORE 9pm last night. On a FRIDAY NIGHT!

We've both just been so tired lately... Thursday night we were watching a movie and I fell asleep on the couch around 8.

That's just not right, we usually don't get to bed til 11 or so.

Saturday Night...

Erik and I watched 3 movies and still made it to bed before 10... Sheez, what's our deal? Well here's what we watched, cuz I know you are dieing to know...

Lara Croft Tomb Raider (I don't care how many times I see this, It Rocks!)

The Day After Tomorrow

The Pacifier (gotta love the shower scene!)

Then we went into the bedroom and tried to watch National Treasure but that lasted about 10 minutes before I fell asleep. So that might be on the list of things to do today.

Women In Touch

Last night was the first Monday of the month, so I went to Women In Touch at the College View Church. It was very enjoyable.

Nothing else really going on.

Peace out Homie!

The Notebook

I finially got Erik to sit down and watch The Notebook with me. (it took some clever persuading)

I Netflixed it some time ago and then he bought it for me knowing how much I loved it. I can't talk about his reaction due to a gag order. I can say that he liked it.

Shotgun!

While my girls were here for the summer we had some instances that required clarification. I am bringing it up at this time as a public service to those who may find themselves in the same situation.

This will end all disputes regarding "Shotgun".

Not a moment to late...

I pushed it off as long as possible. Over the summer, my driver's side front window busted and I didn't have the extra $200 to get it fixed. Now with winter at our doorstep I couldn't avoid it any more. I found a discount place that got the job done for $160. And Guess what?

This morning we woke up to snow. Not much but enough that I knew I would have hated driving in the crap with the window open. It's also very windy, they are calling for 60mph gusts.

The Great Hockey Caper

There seems to be a conspiracy here in Nebraska. NONE of the ESPN stations play any Hockey games, and that has Erik and myself completly distraught. BUT, we have found a station (OLN) that plays a few games a week, all eastern teams.

So last week we watched the FLYERS/BRUINS game. (and you DO KNOW WHO plays for the FLYERS, RIGHT!?!?!)

Last night it was the Capitals/Lightning. And tonight is the FLYERS/Penguins.

I haven't turned my back on the AVS, but I have become a FLYERS fan as well...

Headed south for the holiday...

We don't have the time or the money to go home so Erik and I were going to spend a lonely Thanksgiving at "The Old Country Buffett". Last night Erik talked to his mom and we decided to make the trek to her place, its only about 2-3 hours away. Should be fun.

YEA!! ROAD TRIP!

UNO

We just got back from going to a HOCKEY GAME! A client of mine GAVE us tickets to see the UNO MAVERICKS... (that's University of Nebraska at Omaha) The game totally kicked ass and my voice is very hoarse from all the yelling I did. The Mavs lost by 1 goal.

MAN, I LOVE HOCKEY!!!

Up For Bid

Item 1~Yesterday Erik's cell phone self-destructed, and we are not covered by a warrenty. So we could replace it IF we resigned up with another 2 year agreement or pay $150-200 without another contract. Our current contract is up in May and we were not going to re-up it. Due to many of our family being on a different carrier, we were going to try to get on with the same carrier. So I ended up going to EBAY and winning a cell phone for $5.50 to replace it. Cross you fingers that it works...

Item 2~ Work... is going better... I am getting more clients. There was an incident this last weekend that resulting in the firing of a stylist. But its a good thing because she was evil. So I am gaining her clients!! WOO HOO!

Item 3~ I can't remember what item 3 was, but I know there was an item 3.

Item 4~ Someone has gotten a new car but has yet to post about it. So I don't know any of the glorious details... (HINT, HINT...)

Fa la la la la la la....

Erik and I had a good time visiting his Mom for Thanksgiving....

I dug out all my Christmas decor out of the garage today. This is the first time in about 3 years that I have actually wanted to decorate for the holidays.

I will have the girls here for Christmas this year and that makes a big difference.

On another note, its about 60 degrees out today...

The Rain In Spain...

Stays mainly in the plain....

It rained most of today. Lots of thunder and lightning too. Is this typical weather for late November in Nebraska. The temp was in the 50's today.

Fallen Hottie

Recently Mathew McConahottie was named "Sexiest Man Alive" according to People Magazine. Until I read the article I would agree, but after.... Not so much.

1. He smokes and chews. They both are a huge turn off to me.

2. He hasn't used deodorant in like 20 years, he thinks a man should smell like a man. I think a man should smell like a clean man...

3. He (in 10 years) is his hero... Hmmm, I think that is a bit arrogant. You can't tell me that there is no-one he would consider to be his hero besides himself.

I was the first to call him Matthew McConahottie but now its more like Matthew McConaNOTSOhottie...

Fun with Chemistry

I feel like Tom Hanks in Castaway when he finially makes fire!

Last night I had this brilliant idea that I would attempt to make the hard cinnamony candy that one of my cousins used to make for every Christmas. Well my first attempt sucked.

I didn't have a candy thermometer and didn't think it was all that necessary. They have directions for people who don't have them. Simply drop alittle into cold water and when it "beads" its ready. Well mine didn't bead. I didn't really know what I was looking for so I thought it was ready. But it never hardened, so I put it in the freezer. And it did harden, until I let it stand in the room temp then it started to soften up.

So today I went to Hobby Lobby and got myself a handy candy thermometer. My second attepmt was glorious! When it hit 300 degrees I took it way from the heat and did the cold water trick. IT BEADED... I get it now! Now I know what to look for and I know what happened last night. I didn't get it nearly hot enough. I could tell just be having the thermometer in it and what the product was looking like at each stage. My attempt last night didn't look like it did this time so I know that I didn't get it hot enough.

I never took Chemistry in high school but in JHS I think I remember talking about chemistry a bit in a generic science class. But today it was like magic, all of a sudden I understood something chemistry wise....

P.s. I did have chemistry in beauty school, but that was different...

HOLY CRAP!!

I just noticed the date...

In one month exactly I am going to be 35 years old.

OY VAY!
