I quit my job.... This is a long story but I'll try to keep in to a minimum...

I have not been very happy where I have been working for some time... But I wasn't wanting to make some rash decision about leaving. When I took that job (right after the JC Penney deal) I was just looking to get in a busy shop. Well things just aren't meshing well if ya know what I mean.

One of my weakness's as a Christian is prayer... But for the past few months I have been asking God for help in the work situation. About a month and a half ago I saw a sales add in the newspaper for sale that a salon was having and it also said that there was a Stylist position open. Well I called and the owner and the manager were both out that day. So I prayed and decided to sit on it. I thought that if its meant to be it will happen in time...

Well last Wednesday I got the paper and opened to the job classifieds and low and behold the first ad I see is for that very salon... So I called and talked to the owner and went to meet her... We clicked and by the end of the "interview" she was calling me "girlfriend and Sister".

Last night I gave my 2 week notice to my manager and its Corp. policy that if you are going to another salon in town they let you go right away. That way you can't tell any of the clients. So as of now I am "between jobs". I am very excited... This salon is locally owned... I do have some work ahead of me getting new clients... The owner is going to have "her guy" from the paper come and take my picture for an ad... (Whoa!! That's exciting!!)

P.s. I didn't time this very well... Erik is out of town and now I have several days alone.... I was telling my mom today, "I'm not really a peace and quiet kind of girl". I have only handle a few hours of the stuff.

A few days ago I talked about my new friend, Connie... Tonight we went to the "Women in Touch" gathering at College View SDA church. It is held once a month, every month during the school year.

I really had a good time, we listened to women speakers. One of which was Nancy Osborne. (She is Tom Osborne's wife, and if you know anything about the Husker's you know that Tom Osborne was their head coach for a good many years) And we had a great dinner and fellowship with other christian women... I also ran into KK, and sat with her... It was both Connie and my first time so I am glad we got to sit with KK. We met some really great ladies.

Ok, just to backtrack just alittle... Yesterday I went to church at Lincoln Berean. The sermon yesterday and the speakers tonight really hit on some of the things I am going through in my spiritual life... I think its awesome... I have been so confused on some things lately and it really means alot when I feel that the message was just for me...

Well that's all for me tonight... I have to try and get some sleep... I have to pick Erik up from the train station at 4:11am... AM!!!

Today is my Mom and Dad's 30th wedding anniversary...

I started my new job on Thursday. I really like it... Its gonna be more work for me to get work to do... There isn't as many walk-ins here as I would like. But in time... I am praying about it daily. This Friday and next Friday there will be an ad in the paper with my pic on it...

I really like my new schedule. I work Wednesday thru Saturday... In a month or so I may add Tuesday in there as well.

Erik and I went to see Serenity again on Sunday. I didn't cry as much as the first time. Watching the TV series I really got attached to ALL of the charactors.... Well I've already said to much... Nevermind...

Well I don't know what to say other than, yes, I am watching you all...

Connie and I went on a walk today... I wore my trusty pedometer... We went 9406 steps, or 3.25 miles. When I got back home my legs sure were feeling it. I'm sure I will be a bit sore tomorrow.

I'm also cleaning the house today and tomorrow. Friday my mom and my aunt Grace are going to be here for the weekend so I have to make sure the house is all shiny... I actually got ambitous and cleaned out the oven. It really didn't need it but it hasn't been done since we have lived here. So what the heck, its a self cleaner.

Yes, its been almost 2 weeks since I started my new job at this salon. I am still getting to know everyone, but I am really enjoying it.

Of course I don't have the amount of walk-in clients I did at the other place. Which affects the amount of dollars I bring in. Which affects my pay. But I am hopeful. Last friday there was an ad in the paper with my pic, and it will run again next Friday. Today there is an ad without my pic in the Union College paper.

This was a fun thing that took all of a minute to do...

Right now as we speak, my mom and aunt are down at the car scraping the windows to leave. We had a really nice visit. When my mom was here in September I got her into scrapbooking, so it was only fair to introduce it to my aunt while she was here. My mom also brought with her the album she is working on to show me her progress.

Saturday we drove around and seen some of Lincoln's free sights. We went to several little shops in the Hay Market, then to Hobby Lobby. Sunday we just stuck around the house, scrapebooking. Until my aunt came back from her walk and told us about these 2 craft stores she'd been to. Then we all had to go check them out. After we got back I started with dinner and my aunt made this wonderful cake/pie. I'll have to get the recipe then I will post that for anyone to try it.... Its super yummy... Like pumpkin pie but different....

Anyway I had a great weekend. I just love it when family comes to see me.

Ok, I am the biggest CSI junkie I know. On the Spike channel they play 2 repeats every night. Last night I got the best quote from Gil Grissom.

I was like, "WOW, That's awesome" Its so simple and obvious.

Jodi is here this weekend visiting Union College.... I went and picked her up last night so we could see her and she could get a MUCH needed haircut. I am hoping she decides to go to Union, so then I will have someone here who I know...

I hope she has a nice visit here and a safe trip back to Colorado on Sunday...
