Weekend Recap

My parents were here for the weekend. We had a good time. It was sad to see them go...

Friday, they arrived. Came to the shop and got haircuts. My mom got the works, color, highlights, haircut and style. That night we went to El Toro for dinner.

Got up early Saturday. Ate breakfast at their hotel. Drove to Omaha Zoo. Spent several hours there. Came back to Lincoln and ate at Misty's. (local well famous steak place) Then mom and I went to Hobby Lobby and Wal*Mart.

Sunday didn't get up as early. Went to Village Inn and then to the Nebraska State Fair... That was fun. Then we went to Hy-Vee and got groceries for dinner. Watched The Rundown. And then went to their hotel for a swim...

All in all it was a good weekend...

Party Time

I've been putting this off for a few days now... Because I know there is going to be some wise ass comments...

On Saturday I went out with my friend from Colorado. She was here for a wedding and to see her folks. She wanted to go see this band play that she knew. The show was at a downtown hotel and I didn't think anything about it until one of Erik's friends said "Good Luck". (Due to the Husker game just letting out) We get down there just fine and even found a good parking spot. but...

The band was playing for an AFTER GAME PARTY!!!! There was a good couple thousand HUSKER FANS there... Of all ages too..

Despite that, we had a great time and might go to another one...

But don't call me a Husker fan yet...

News Flash

Nothing going on here...

Erik is going home the first weekend of October. He has vacation days he has to burn up, so he's gonna go hang out with friends. I'm bummed I can't go.

Right now I'm on my lunch break. I came home to cook up a frozen pizza... I love that we only live like a half a mile from where I work.

Erik is so tired of the commute to Omaha, so he's on the lookout for a job around here. And he's thinking about going back to school...

Be careful what you wish for...

I was just telling Erik the other day, that I haven't done any color services in a while... Then yesterday I did 3.

Today Erik and I are lazing about watching Firefly, getting geared up for the movie... Serenity comes out September 30th. Erik will be in Colorado, so we have to wait til he gets back to see it.

Weather Patterns

The weather has been a bit goofy lately. Last Wednesday is was 103 degreees (which set a record) and we had a few days in the 90's. And humid to boot..

But yesterday it was beautiful. I never saw the temp but it must have only been in the upper 60's. It was a dry day and really felt like a Colorado day in the fall... I love the kind of days where you need a sweatshirt.

Budding Friendship?

I have been becoming more friendly with a client of mine. A months back I went and did her hair for her wedding. Amber just graduated from Union and is a nurse.

Well this week her mother, Connie came in for a haircut. We got to talking. She just moved here from South Dakota and she lives in the same apartments we do. Actually in the next building. We exchanged phone numbers. She called me today and in about a half an hour we are going for a walk together...

Alone

Last night I took Erik to the train station.... It was a sad looking event. I'm sure we looked like a couple saying goodbye before he ships off.

Then I came home and slept in the middle of our King size bed.

I miss him already.
