I gotta tell ya about our little adventure we had on Sunday.
I thought it would be nice to go check out the "Roca Berry Farm". Its out near or in Roca Nebraska, (pop. 220) about 12 miles south of Lincoln. Well I didn't have any good directions, but we headed out anyway.
We came across the small town of Roca and even saw one strawberry shaped sign. Never saw a berry farm. Continued driving around for a good 1/2 hour. Then we gave up.
Came to HWY 77 and thought it would be cool to to check out the town of Beatrice, (pop. 12,354) which is about 30 miles south of Lincoln. We were just going to go to Beatrice and get some lunch, when we got there we saw some signs for this "Homestead National Monument".
I thought that sounded OK to check out. We get near there and we see a sign that says "caution: Special Event Ahead".
Just my luck, there was a big assed festival at the monument... It was "Homestead days" and there were a good million people there. So we avoided it. We will have to go back some other day.
Not only did we not get to go pick berries but we didn't get to go to the monument... So we went to KFC, came home and went to the pool.

I'm sorry to hear that you missed out on berry picking. It sounds like your weekend was just as bad as mine.
