Ok, there's something terribly wrong here in Nebraska...
When I was in Junior high school my best friend and I started a S.A.D.D. chapter. I have since then been dead set against drinking and driving.
Well, since living here I have met several people that don't seem to think that stopping off at the liquer store and getting a drink "to go" is wrong. They are even shocked that I think it is appaulling....
Ummm... HELLO?!?!?!
I just can't even say anymore.... Its just so wrong on so many levels...

Sad to say it's not just Nebraska. In TX, I had a BUNCH of folks flat drunk coming in to the convenience store where I was working to buy more alcohol.
I've seen a BUNCH of drunk drivers in my time on the road truckin' with my dad and Doreen. Each time we called the cops on them. We saw a couple get pulled over.
Doreen and I actually, stupidly of course, road with a couple in a car who'd had a 'coupla drinks.'
Yup - you are completely right - it is WRONG on SO MANY, MANY LEVELS!
Wish those 'idiots' would get a CLUE!

I am from Nebraska originally and my father through my whole childhood and to this day still drinks and drives and thinks nothing of it. Which is exactly why my children have never been able to visit him without me present. It totally amazes me that people think that it is ok!
BTW I am in Maryland and they really crack down around here, but of course you have those few idiots that just don't get it!
