Do You Fondue?

HAPPY NEW YEARS!

Our New Year's Eve was a smashing success. We went over to our friends' T and L's place... We co-hosted a little get together with about 13 people. I orchestrated a fabulous 3 course Fondue meal... We played board games, dance games, sat out by the chimminia and toasted the New Year with Champagne... I love Champagne...

I have known T and L, for along time. I met them in March on 1991 when I joined the SCA with my ex. Erik met them in 1998 when he joined. They have really become family to us. They are truley some of the greatest people I know. T is the wise old turtle from "The Never Ending Story" to me... (even though he doesn't understand...)

ITS TUESDAY!!

tuesday is chooseday

either leave your answers or a link to your webpage with your responses.

    Would you rather:
  1. work at a company that regularly tests hair care products on animals OR regularly buries toxic waste illegally?
  2. for an entire month, eat everything through a straw OR deep fried?
  3. invent the next popular kids toy OR sex toy?
  4. find out your neighbor is a spy for an enemy nation OR a black ops assassin for your government?

1. I'm sure working in the hair industy like I do, some of the products are tested on animals. But that doesn't mean I like it...
2 eat through a straw, all that fried food would be hell to lose the weight.
3. Kids toy
4. spy, if he was an assassin what's he doing in my neighborhood?

Advice, please

I need everyone's help here. I have a situation that I am not comfortable with how it stands right now...

Here it is...

I was friends with this great gal, and she invited me to do something with her that required reservations and a fee. I agreed, thinking I could come up with the money. Well it turned out that I couldn't and I talked to her on the day of the event. I tried to explain to her that I was (am, still) seriously broke and couldn't get even groceries so I didn't think it would be right to go. I apologized several times, Well she was very upset and hasn't talked to me since. It has been months. I would think that she would understand my trouble and not let it effect a good friendship, but maybe not.

But, she has recently put me on one of her mass emailings inviting me to a similar event this Saturday. I am still broke and have to work so I replied declining.

We used to be such good friends, and I miss her. How do I try to rectify this? Can we ever be friends again?

P.S.
We are moving in a month and won't have much of a chance later to patch things up...

Here There Be Pirates

I nearly laughed myself off the chair last night.

Jamie came over and watched "Ladykillers" with us. After the movie was over she hung out and we were all talking and stuff. I then went into the computer room, her and Erik were sorta in the hallway. He was telling her about his latest plastic crack. A Pirate game, with little ships that are plastic-y. The ships are different sizes but no bigger than 2 inches or so. He's going on telling her about the ships and she says...

"Do you take them in the bath?"

It took me a few seconds to register what they were talking about and it struck me as the funniest thing ever... And I laughed my ass off for a good 5 minutes. Not at Erik's expense, it was just funny because she wasn't maiking fun of him she was really asking...

So just not to piss him off (and make sure he knows that I am not making fun of him), I will admit that this game is quite fun and the little ships kick ass...

Behind the Bushes...

I looked out my bedroom window to see what in the world Katie (my parents/neighbors dog) was barking at. She sounded PISSED... I saw the meter reader in our yard, checking the meter. Then I saw him go over to the nearest tree and take care of business.

HE PEE'D IN OUR BACKYARD!!!!

I still can't believe my eyes, I keep wondering, "did I really see that?"
Well at least living in an apartment in Lincoln we shouldn't see that too often...

OH YEA!! I haven't let it known yet... We got an apartment in Lincoln and we move Feb 5th... Yes, that soon. If you go to the link above, click on "floorplans" and look at the "Aspen". That's ours, its being remodeled as we speak... I'm excited and scared at the same time...

Erik starts his new job Feb 9th and I haven't talked to my new manager yet. Well, she knows I'm coming but we haven't set a date yet...

How much...

Since we are moving, I have been thinking...(that is never good, I know!) I have been wondering how much clothing do I really need? I have enough to clothe an entire 3rd world country... I am wanting to downsize my closet, but I'm no sure what is a good amount to hold onto. How many outfits do I need? Help a girl out please?!?!

Work clothes?
Dress clothes?
Everyday clothes?
Winter VS Summer clothes?
Total Relaxation clothes?
Workout clothes?

and SHOES!! Sorry, no limit there....

Erik's Job

Well ok... Since there is alot of interest in this subject....

Erik's current supervisor knows someone who has a printing company in Omaha. He has been talking to this guy and telling him about Erik. So finially this guy wanted to talk to Erik. They talked, He wants to give Erik and chance. He's willing to pay Erik his current wages. He wants to meet the 2 of us, as he thinks its is a package deal. It will be an almost hour drive for Erik but it sounds like a really good company. Kinda like the company he works for now USED to be. It sounds like its a bigger company too...

So there, now you know what I know.

Stressed spelled backwards is Desserts...

Sorry, its been a few days since I had anything to say. I'm just mainly bored and busy trying to pack things up. Which isn't all that easy, because there really isn't much space to put the boxes... I'm pretty stressed out over it...

I can't tell you how stressed I am because "unky moods" is down. So you'll just have to believe me.

I went to Michael's today with my mom, then we went to Starbucks, then Barnes and Noble, then Bed Bath and Beyond...I forgot how much I love BB and B. We fondeled some 600 thread count Egyptian Cotton sheets... We haven't gone shopping in a long time. We didn't do much spending, I didn't do any. But she did get me a book and some linen spray.

Next Friday we are going to downtown Denver to do some window shopping and lunching. We are going to take our cameras. She has always wanted to take some pictures of an alley in Denver. I'd just like to take some pictures of some of my favorite places before I move away. I am really going to miss having Friday's off with my Mommy.

January 17, 2005

I was just over at

I was just over at Jamie's site. That girl is a sweetie... I'm gonna miss her like crazy. I'm glad though that we have these blogs to keep up with each other. I don't know how I survived befroe I had a blog. Blogging is such a huge part of my day. Its the first thing I do, I put on my makeup as I am reading blogs and I end my day by checking my favorite blogs...

Anyway, I'm getting alittle sappy about moving. I have never lived anywhere other than the front range. Mostly right here in this town. I have been here for all of my 34 years. And now I am going 500 miles away, where they don't even have mountains. I know what I am doing is right, I am just going to miss all the things that I take for granted everyday. I have so many things on my list to do before I leave...

go to Denver
go to the Mountains
eat at my favorite local restraunts
see my favorite people

And the list goes on...(insert Bon Jovi's "Never Say Goodbye here") Ok, I'll stop being a sap.

In other news I'm thinking about bringing the Movie Trivia back, with a twist and make it a weekly meme... I might even make it offical and get hooked up with the Daily Meme... What do you think of that?

FYI...

Blogging
and
going out to lunch with my mom is not getting things packed up to move...

Beliefs...

Tonight at work I had a very interesting theological conversation with a regular client. She is from Egypt and is Muslim. The things that made it so interesting was all the similarities in our beliefs. I was amazed, how can 2 cultures who have very similar beliefs be at war with each other?

Anyway, I just thought I'd share that...

2 Weeks

Exactly 2 weeks from now I will be waking up to to a new life in a new home in a new town and even in new territory....

I don't think it has really hit me that we are moving 500 miles away from the only place I have called home. Its strange, but I am somewhat excited for this change... I will miis so much here but there is much to be explored there.

And in 2 weeks I will be exploring new surroundings...

Yesterday was my last day at work. This Friday will be Erik's last day at his job.

As for today, we are going up to Laramie to visit Erik's Dad. On the way I plan on getting some pictures of the mountains I love so much...

January 24, 2005

Spring Fever

Its 60 degrees today and I have all the windows open in the house... I have spring fever in a big way...

I think later I might go out for a walk, but first I gotta get something done... This stuff isn't packing itself for some reason...

January 26, 2005

My Movie Review....

Aimee took me to the movies this afternoon. We saw "Closer"... Interesting movie... Lots of foul language and talk of sex, but no actual sex... It could have been alot better. It jumped around in time alot and wasn't very easy to follow due to that. It does howver give you 2 hours to look at Jude Law and Clive Owen, so it wasn't a complete bore... I give it a C-. But don't waste your money...

January 27, 2005

Light Reading?

Maybe I shouldn't be reading this right before going to bed... Its very interesting though... Its by the same Authors of the Left Behind series. Which I haven't read but am really wanting to now...

As for now, I'm up and awake, so its off to packing Erik's and my bedroom. I have a mountain a clothes to sort out. I'm getting rid of a ton of clothes....

A Quiz For My SWEETIE....

Montaigne

Noblesse Oblige.

You have a staggering amount of self-confidence, and all the flair that goes with it: you make everything look so easy. You are probably interested in law and politics, and in social issues. Some may see you as a bit condescending, but you're still very much a people person.

Which 7th Sea nation do you call home? Take the quiz here

Can't Sleep

I can't sleep, I have 49 million things going through my head... We are moving in 1 week... Tonight Erik and I made a list of things that need to be done. We drew up a schedule. Interested? Here it is anyway...

Laundry room (90% done)
Thursday (today)-- Our room (99% done)
Friday-- Bathroom (I'm betting I'll have that done before I go to sleep)
Go to Erik's going away lunch at his work
Color my mom's hair
Have Starbucks with my Mom
Go to last gaming night at Titus and Llamrei's
Saturday-- Paint our room
Finish yellow room (its about 80% now)
Start kitchen (possibly)
Sunday--Work in garage (that'll take up the majority of the day)
Ernie and Georgia are coming to pick-up tredmill
Go to Conor O'Niell's for going away party (Ya'all can come too)

Finish garage
Tuesday-- Living room (already 70% done)

Last weekend in Colorado
