oops...

For a moment we'll pretend its Tuesday...

tuesday is chooseday

either leave your answers or a link to your webpage with your responses.

    Would you rather:
  1. have a severe food allergy to salt OR sugar?
  2. have skin that feels like tanned leather OR suede?
  3. have your picture posted on the evening news as a suspected flasher OR as a suspected peeping tom?
  4. lick the underside of a slug once OR suck the teat of a cow's udder for ten seconds?

1. Wow, that's tough because sugar and salt are in EVERYTHING! I guess I'd be allergic to sugar, I think it would be easier to subsitute.

2. Suede, no question.

3. Flasher, (peeping Tom, that's just wrong)

4. I don't know why I would do either, but I'd lick the cow. (there's a chance its cleaner) Anyway I once licked a salt block that is for cows....

(well that was fun, right?)

December morning...

I am having a hard time thinking that it is December. Where has this year gone? It has passed by so quickly... This is the first year in Cheryl History that I am almost done Christmas shopping before December. (Well I've gotten my kids shopped for, but they are the biggest expense)

This weekend Erik and I driving to Licoln NE. to find jobs and look at a house that we might buy. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I have never lived 500 miles away from home. This will be so different. There are so many things about Colorado I will miss.

Sorry, I'm feeling a bit sappy today I guess...

ROAD TRIP!!

Well by this time tomorrow we will be on the road to checking out a new life. I have an interview Saturday morning at the JCP Salon in Lincoln, and a noon we go meet with the realtor to look at houses. Before we go I have a crap load of things to do today... Laundry, clean the house, find the perfect outfit, pack, and go to bed early so we can leave early. Oh, and did I mention I have to work 12-9pm? Travelling should be loads of fun. Its been snowing here and there, I hope I-80 is clear tomorrow. And I still have a cold.

In other news....

I got bangs, my hair's so now...

and now I hate them. Why, AIMEE were you not there to stop me? It was as moment of insanity that I am going to have to live with for at least a month. It wouldn't be so bad if she would have listened to me when I told her that my bangs shrink up... So you have to cut them longer than what I tell you by a good 1/2 to 3/4 inch. oh well..

C'est la vive!

Movie quotes...

Have you ever sat and listened to anyone who could sit there and have an entire conversation of movie quotes? I haven't, because I was one having the conversation.

At the place where I used to work, Aimee and I could go all day long having this "conversation". People thought we were nuts, and I'm sure we are. So why do I bring this up, you ask? In my last post I made a comment about my bangs that was directly from a movie. And I'm sure that Aimee caught it. It made me laugh.

Its just interesting how much movies really have on effect on our everyday lives.

Its good to be home

We had a good weekend in Lincoln, but it was nice to sleep in my bed last night. Here's a rundown of our weekend...

Friday we left town about 8am. Had a very uneventful drive. The roads were clear and dry, that was a blessing. We pulled into Lincoln around 3:30. (our time) Went to Ty's house and chilled for a few hours. Later went downtown and met his wife at this Indain restruant called The Oven. It was SSOOOO GOOOD!!! Then we came home, stayed up late and chatted.

Saturday I got up early (Erik too) I had to be to JCP at 9am (8am for me) for an interview with the salon manager. It went great, I knew it would. I even met the store manager, he seems like a decent guy. Then I met up with Erik in the mall. He made it to 2 stores, the Game Stop and B. Dalton. We checked out the mall for a while, grabbed some mall food for lunch, then headed to the Realtor's office. We had a good long chat with her. She gave us copies of info on about 40 houses in our price range and in the neighborhood of the mall. She gave us LOTS of good information and even advice to Erik on job searching.

After that we headed back to Ty's and hung out til his wife came home from work. Then we went to a bar, met his 2 friends, then went to the movie theatre and watched "National Treasure". As you might remember, Erik and I saw it a week or 2 ago, but we enjoyed it ALOT...

Sunday, we slept in. (as best we could in a double bed) When we got up and around we went and drove by a bunch of the houses on our list. That really took ua a good 5 hours. It rained most of the day. I'm not getting too excited about any of these houses because we don't have the finiancing part of it done, and that could be a month before that is done. If we were to get excited about a house chances are good that it may sell before we can be serious about it. But there are about 3 that Erik and I agree about and 1 that we both really like. We haven't seen the insides yet, so this is all based on just doing the drive-bys.

Monday we got up, loaded up, fueled up and went home. We did hang out with Ty, Wendy and their awesome little kids for a good 2 hours. I nearly brought home their little dog Nugget, he's Silky Terrier, and I love him. Again the drive was uneventful. I'd rather it be uneventful than eventful.

In a day or so I'll go into the story of our original Realtor and the only house he wanted to show us. Thats a story all its own.

These are a few of my favorite things...

Dear Secret Santa,

I have been a very good girl... Here are some ideas for you.

Pfaltzgraff tea kettle (grapevine)
perfume:
VS Lovespell
Clinique Happy
Calvin Klein Escape
Cattybag (black)

That's just a few idea, I'm not picky...

No sleep til Brooklyn...

Last week I had a cold, by Sunday I thought I was pretty much over it. Last night at work about 6 o'clock my throat started to hurt and feel alittle swollen. I couldn't get rid of that feeling. During the night, I'd fall asleep and be woken up by my own snoring. By 3 am it was starting to really piss me off.

So all in all I got about an hours worth of sleep.

Easygoing, you tend to find joy from the simple things in life.
You roll with the punches, and as a result, your life is light and cheerful.

You find it easy to adapt to most situations, and you're an open person.

Santa and the Easter Bunny

I had a thought this morning as I was washing dishes.

I don't remember ever believing in Santa. I do remember believing in the Easter Bunny, but not Santa. I know I must have believed in him but I can't seem to remember ever going to bed early and leaving cookies out for him. I remember staying up late and watching "Christmas movies". I remember one year when I was in the 4th or 5th grade, it was Christmas Eve and we sat around the living room reading the Christmas story out of the Bible. That maybe my only memory of Christmas eve as a child. And its a good one.

When my girls were little we made a big deal of the Santa thing. We left out cookies and milk and even oats for the reindeer. (out on the porch) But we also went to the Christmas Eve service at church.

The reason I came to all this today, I was wondering when do kids find out the truth. That there is no Santa and furthermore, why do we lie. What's wrong with the real meaning of Christmas.

I think Christmas has become so commercial. I see people in the malls all grouchy because they have to get a gift for their "loved one". I say, if it makes you that mean and nasty then don't get them a gift, if you heart isn't into it. I'd much rather have a gift from the heart than something that someone bought not really wanting to.

Catching up

I know its been a few days since I've been around. Its been alittle hectic. Yesterday Erik and I went to the Denver Museaum of Nature and Science to check out the new Egyptain display. It was AWESOME... We even spent the $5 to get the Audio tour. You get headphones and on almost every item there is a number that you punch into the controller and you get to listen to added info narrated by Jeremy Irons.

In other news...

My step sister's house burned down on Thursday Dec. 2. She lost about everything. My neice and nephew were home at the time and nearly lost their lives. My neice lost her cat. They just got into another house and have nothing to make it a home but a few donations. They had absolutly zero insurance. We take for granted somethimes all the "things" we have.

I can't wait...

July 2005... The remake of Charlie and the Chocolate factory will be released. Starring Johnny Depp.

TUESDAY

tuesday is chooseday

either leave your answers or a link to your webpage with your responses.

    Would you rather:
  1. A garbage collector OR a fry cook at a greasy spoon restaurant?
  2. The person who repairs downed power lines OR the person who cleans the shark tanks (while they're still in it) at aquariums?
  3. The person who does makeup on dead people for open casket services OR the person who who has to scoop the ashes of a dead person into an urn?
  4. A beat cop in new york OR a navy SEAL on a covert mission?

1. garbage collector (I have too many food issues)
2. power lines (there's no way I'm getting in a tank with sharks)
3. makeup (its more my thing)
4. Navy SEAL (it looks good on a resume)

Hold me back

This Sunday night I am having Christmas with my parents and my 2 step-sisters. I have mixed feelings about this, due to the fact that I don't really have (or want) much of a relationship with them. (the step-sisters) I am mostly just cordial to them, I have gone out of my way in the past to have a relationship with them but its always been unreturned, even when we were kids.

Anyway, since my one step-sister's house burned down I have again tryed. I recently heard of something extremely RUDE and totally UNCALLED for that my other step-sister said to the other ones husband during the time that the fire was being put out. I'm not sure if I want to go into what she said, (just in case she has stumbled across my blog) but I know that if she said that to me I would have knocked her on her ass and told her that she was never welcome in my home again. Why her husband didn't do that is beyond me.

So needless to say I'm not looking forward to this Sunday. If you really must know what was said I will tell you via email.

This is the cold that never ends...

I have had this FREAKIN" cold for 3 weeks now, and its starting to wear on me. Not to be gross or anything but I think I may have beaten some world record on the amount of stuff to come out of my nose in a single blowing. And my throat most of the time feels like fire, can someone please call the NYFD...

Tonight I will have completed all the requirements to obtain a Nebraska Cosmetology Lisence. Monday I started the First Aid course they require, and tonight I finish it. Providing I pass the test, I will be certified in First Aid, CPR and AED. At first I didn't want to do the course but as I was there Monday evening I decided it was a good thing to know. Hopefully its something I will never have to use.

Certifiable

If anyone needs me, I am now certified in CPR, AED and First Aid. I finished my Red Cross course this evening. I needed a First Aid course to obtain a Nebraska Cosmetology Lisense. Tomorrow I will fax off the info they need and should get my lisense soon.

No rest for the wicked...

Yesterday went by in a flash... Erik kept me up most of the night with his coughing, and when he got up to go to work I couldn't go back to sleep so I got up... ME!!, I, WAS UP BEFORE 7AM... I hate when that happens. (Erik came home from work like 20 minutes later) So I went out to eat with my Mom and step-sister. Then we all went Christmas shopping. I got home in time to go to Taco Bell. Then I wrapped some presents. Then we went to our friends' house. Ate, drank and was Merry.

Got up this morning, went to work... Gonna do some laundry tonight and clean up the house. And work on Christmas cards...

Tomorrow I'm gonna get up, go to work, come home, go next door to my parents and have Christmas with them and my step-sisters.

Monday, I might get a chance to relax... We'll see...

Hope you all are having a great weekend.

So far this week

The past few days have sorta flew by...

Sunday I worked until 6pm, scurried home to change into comfy clothes and went next door to my parents for Christmas. Which, BTY, didn't suck as much as I thought it would. I got a camera from my Mum and Dad.

Yesterday I had the day off. I Went to Perkins for lunch with my Dad and Erik. Then went on a ride with my Dad to check out the property my step-sister is buying. (not the one who just had the fire) Came home and took a nap. Then had leftovers for dinner next door. (see, when my parents do a holiday dinner, there's leftovers for a week) Erik and I met my friend Aimee at the cheap movies to see the new Bridget Jones movie. I loved it and will be owning it.. (I have been thinking in a British accent again today)

Today I worked and finished my holiday shopping...

2 More days to work then I get 4 off... I can't wait...

I really enjoyed hanging out with Scott and Staci, don't get that chance to often. When we move it will be even harder to see them. We'll just have to coinside our holiday's. I got some great gifts from Pfaltzgraff... (Yippee!!)

I went to Weight Watchers tonight and only gained .4, not as bad as I thought. (the same old 4 ounces...) Afterward Aimee came over and we watched alittle Firefly, and then played some Sims 2.

Aimee, have you even noticed the change on my website? Since I have a "movie theme" going on here I will start up the movie trivia again. Just not tonight..

Oh yeah... Did I tell you that my Birthday is on Wednesday??

Happy Birthday Baby...

Today is my baby's 13th birthday...

Have a awesome birthday CHERISE!!

BUSY, BUSY, BUSY DAY...

Yesterday, my birthday, I was so busy at work... I didn't even have time to think about it. I did a few haircuts followed by a master color correction from hell... That was 3 1/2 hour of SUCK! Then I did a few more haircuts. I did however have time at the end of the evening to sit alittle before we closed.

After work I went to 3 Margaritas for a birthday Marg. (Not alone, with a few gals from work) Before I went there I stopped at Arby's to get Erik something to eat. I ordered at the drive up, he told me the total and to go to the window. I waited at the window for 15 minutes. He never came to take my money or tell me that there was a problem or anything...(bastard!) And I was the only car there... So I left and went to Taco Johns... Can you believe that? I think I may fill out a comment card next time I am there... Providing I go back...
