You can call me a material girl....

For those of you who think you know me, this might seem a bit out of charactor for me and may even come as a shock.

Ok, so I have always been a Mallrat and today my mallrat-ness knows no bounds. Aimee and I went to the Park Meadows Mall in way south Denver today. And we had a blast... A SUPER BLAST, even...

We started at the JC Penney, and I had to check out the Salon/Spa there... And OH MY GOSH!! I went into the Salon and the gentleman behind the desk asked how I was and if he could help me... I told him my name and that I worked for the JCP Salon in FTC. and I just wanted to see what their Salon looked like. The manager, Kathy, was in an office right behind him and she came out and introduced herself and gave Aimee and I a GRAND tour... I cannot tell you how gorgeous this salon is... She toured us through the Spa section and the nail section and let us go into the salon on our own. Upon entering the salon section we met a male stylist and I told him who we were and he told us to feel free to look around. So we did. It was beautiful...

Then we did some major shopping in JCP. Then came out like an hour later. That JCP really makes my JCP look like the ghetto-red-headed-step-child sister-store. This one has 3 floors, the Salon/Spa is on the second floor in the womens department. They have so much more merchandise than we do... Its just unbelieveable...

We walked around and shopped for several more hours, taking a lunch break in the middle. We had a terrific amount of fun. Then we found a store that I really love... Its called Urban Outfitters. I fit there so much, its all 80's styles, they have some of the coolest furnishings I have ever seen. And I want it all!! I got the coolest address book. (the one I used to have near the computer has apparently grown legs and walked off...) And it was here that I found a movie that I have been looking for, for months... Its "Girls just want to have fun" starring SJP and Helen Hunt...

After all the damage we did there, we decided to head home. But when we got to 120th Ave we made a detour to another one of my favorite stores... Cost Plus World Market.... Then we did a little more damage at Payless Shoes...

Can I just say that it was a joyous occasion?!?!?! Now I am going to go curl up, watch my new movie and read my Vogue magazine that I just got in the mail...

p.s. Sorry if this post was too "linky" for you... I may have gone overboard alittle...

CSU Homecoming

In order to gain more clients for our salon, Mary(a co-worker) and I are going to the CSU homecoming parade to hand out coupons and samples. I came up with this idea last week. I asked everyone I worked with if they wanted to join us. As I was stuffing envelopes Thurday with my business card in them, other co-workers got all worked up that I was promoting myself and not them. So they talked to the salon manager and she started reopening them and taking my cards out. I protested and told her that I feel that if I am the one going out there I deserve to get my card in it. I'm doing all the work, and I asked them all if they wanted to do it to. Later that night the salon manager had a meeting with the store manager and she took one to show her and the store manager agreed with ME!! YEAH!! So I get to promote myself and the salon...

Lazy Sunday

Its just a lazy Sunday. I've been playing Sims 2 and Erik is now taking a nap. Later I have to cut and color my mom's hair, cut my dad's and Thorban's.

Here's something to think about from Luna. I stole it from Aimee.

  1. Courage:: Strength
  2. Stamina:: Power
  3. Leader:: Bush
  4. Idea:: Smart
  5. Rockstar:: Dream
  6. Dew:: Morning
  7. Guards:: London
  8. Lenny:: Kravitz
  9. Alliance:: Federation
  10. Cigarettes:: Cancer

Hope everyone is enjoying the day...

Missing CDs and lack of gumption

Has anyone seen my Hoobastank CD? I am cleaning house today and I have been looking for that CD since I took the girls back to Iowa. (That was the middle of August) I like to listen to CDs while cleaning because then I won't get stuck in front of the TV.

Nothing going on today, I am going to meet Erik for lunch around noon at Carls JR.
I have ALOT that NEEDS to be done around the house and ZERO motorvation to do it... I want to have a garage sale on the weekend that Erik and I were going to Lincoln. Thats in 2 weeks. You think that would be enough motorvation, right? Well then I guess I better get on it...

Wish me luck...

I can't believe I almost forgot,... ITS...

    Would you rather:
  1. eat a gallon of peanut butter in 30 minutes OR 100 hard-boiled eggs in 2 hours?
  2. french kiss a walrus OR lick the slide at chuck e. cheese?
  3. teach a class of hyperactive 3-year-olds OR a class of goth-punk teens?
  4. have high tea with the queen of england OR a round of golf with the president of the united states?

1. Ummm... I'll take the eggs... I don't think I could finish all that peanut butter in 30 minutes.
2. Uh... Totally the slide...
3. The inner goth-punk in me says "Hell yeah baby!, Bring it on!"
4. It would be jolly good to have a spot of tea with the Queen Mum. Anyway I suck at golf.

Sad spooky dreams

I found the most disturbing way to start my day.

Last night I dreamed that a loved one was very ill and dying. They wanted me to handle all the arrangements so that someone else wouldn't have to. Well it was a long drawn out illness and this person just kept getting worse and worse. I remember waking up at least once to the sound of crying. I was crying in my sleep, but without tears.

Then when I fell back to sleep the dream continued. Then the person who was ill did indeed die and I have to take care of the arrangements. I woke up again then fell back to sleep and dreamt that Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston came to the funeral. And Jennifer got insanly jealous that Brad was consoling me. (this is when the dream took a turn, but nevermind that...)

I remember waking up a few times and feeling very saddened. Everytime I slipped back into sleep the dream continued.

And the spooky part....

When I woke up to the alarm, "Don't fear the Reaper" was playing...

Goodbye to Superman

I just read that Christopher Reeve died... I'm very sad. My heart goes out to his family and friends. This is a better story.

I enjoyed the "Superman" movies, but my favorite movie of his is, "Somewhere in Time" with Jane Seymour.

Weight watchers

Last night I went to my first Weight Watchers meeting.(yeah, I know I was going to go on Friday, but stuff happened...) At first I was extremely scared and nervous. First I had to sign in and pay, then stand in the line to be weighed in.

When you weigh in, thats when you get to talk privately with someone about your goals. So I found out how much I weigh (argh!!) and set a 10% of my weight goal. Then as the meeting started I was starting to feel more comfortable. I got so much information it was mind boggling.

After the meeting I had to stay for another meeting, this was a getting started meeting. The getting started meeting was very helpful in explaining what was going on in the actual meeting. Now I pretty much understand the program.

There are two ways to do WW, they have the Flex plan and the Core plan. The flex plan you can eat anything but you only have so many points each day and you have to track everything you eat and pay attention to portions. On the Core plan you have a list of things you can eat and you stop eating when you are satisfied. I'm doing the flex plan. I think I need that structure and accountability.

So right now I am happy I joined and I am hopeful that I will be successful.

Almost too late...

I know I almost forgot again about....
tuesday is chooseday

either leave your answers or a link to your webpage with your responses.

    Would you rather:
  1. have agoraphobia (fear of open spaces) OR claustrophobia (fear of enclosed places)?
  2. find out now that you will die exactly on your 70th birthday OR never know?
  3. have your grandmother walk in on you trying on risque underwear OR your child?
  4. rid the world of cockroaches OR narcotics?

1. I love open spaces so I'll take the claustrophobia please.
2. I prefer to live in the dark about that one, there are just things that one doesn't need to know.
3. Now that my girls are older (and so is my Grammy) I'll pick my girls, they'd understand better...
4. I'd like to see the world Narcotic free...

Nitey-nite all...

Mini Holiday

I have 2 days left to work then I have 4 off. Erik and I were going to go to Lincoln this weekend but lack of funds is stopping us. We may try to go next month if we can get caught up on a few things.

Besides, Erik can't take the time off now. He asked for it off over a month ago and this week he's told he can't take it off. This is the 3rd or 4th time in the past 2 years that they have done that to him. You can figure out on your own how well he took it. Do ya blame him?

So on my time off I am going to clean the house and sort through a bunch of things and maybe have a garage sale soon... We are gonna be downsizing in a big way...

Mini Holiday Part II

Erik gets his time off that he requested... So he's off til Tuesday... I on the other hand still have to go to work tomorrow...

HAHAHAHAHA!!!... He thinks its gonna be all fun and playing Sims 2, but what he doesn't know is that we have work to do...

Little bit of Yummy...

Ladies check this out.... or this. And just one more, my favorite...

And, World Peace...

I know I should be concerned with more important things like the economy, the election, global warming and world peace. But the thing that really bothers me is...

We should be enjoying HOCKEY!! Last night should have been the first regular season game for my team, but because of the stupid Lockout it wasn't...And who knows when they will get this resolved.

Why can't we all just get along?

October 15, 2004

Days off, day 1...

This is the first chance I've gotten to get a word in, Erik hogged the computer today til about 5 o'clock. Then we went to Sonic for dinner, then I had a friend over to watch "Under The Tuscan Sun". She just left and now I get a minute to speak my mind.

So, what was I doing the whole day when Erik was being a computer hog? Well, last night I was on the computer playing Sims 2 til 4am, so I didn't get up til almost 11. Who knows what time it was when he got up. I laid about for a good 2 hours then I cleaned the bathroom, livingroom and the kitchen. Tomorrow I might try to tackle our bedroom. I also need to spend some time in the garage this weekend. But I'm not doing that alone.

I don't really feel like simming right now, so I may go watch another DVD.

Feeling a little down

I am feeling a little down today... My mini holiday is coming to a screaching halt.

I just went to my second Weight Watchers meeting. The meeting went well. The weigh in, however didn't. I gained .2 pounds. I guess I shouldn't be so worried, I mean its only .2 and not 2., right? And I know I am not going to see instant results. I'm not going to look back only forward towards next week...

Erik and I had a decent weekend off... Not much got done like I wanted. But we did build some kick ass sim houses!!

Your opinion is needed

My daughter is doing a research project on Euthanasia (or mercy killing) she has asked me to post something on the subject and my opinion. She also wants the opinion of YOU... So help her out and leave a comment telling us how you feel about Euthanasia. As for me, I'm going to take the day and think about it.. because this is a subject where I sit on the fence... I'll post later, after I have gather my thoughts.

My Opinion

Ok, I have thought about it, I actually came up with my answers quicker than I thought I would. Here's what I feel about Euthanasia...

I would hate to see a family member suffer from sickness, and I would hate to see my family members suffer from my sickness. But we cannot make the decision on who lives or dies. I am against Euthanasia. It is God's commandment, "Thou shalt not kill". That to me means "you can't kill... no matter what"..., no if and or buts. God know what is best and he will handle things in his time.

Tuesday Chooseday, HOORAY!!

tuesday is chooseday

either leave your answers or a link to your webpage with your responses.

    Would you rather:
  1. eat an entire costco sized chocolate cake OR a full bag of double-stuff oreos?
  2. win a $500 gift certificate to starbucks OR best buy?
  3. have the whole day off to read and listen to music OR go hiking?
  4. take a trip to another continent for a week OR drive across your own continent for two weeks?

1. How many points are they? I guess I'll take the Oreos.
2. Best Buy... Then I can get an iPod.
3.Go hiking then find a nice place to read and listen to music.
4. ROAD TRIP!! I'd take the 2 weeks here, there are lots of people I could visit...(as much as I'd love to go to the UK)

October 20, 2004

Let me clarify...

I need to add something to my opinion on Euthanasia. If the only thing keeping me alive is machines, I cannot breathe on my own and I am brain dead, then yes, pull the plug. It is not God's will to have me hooked up, because I am already dead.

Weekend update

Don't you just hate it when you wake up in the morning and you have now idea what day it is? Is it Friday? Tuesday? Well I knew when I got up that it was my day off, but didn't know which one it was. So at least I didn't jump up and get ready for work. That would be a bit embarrassing.

I haven't blogged for a few days. I have been very busy.

Friday, my Mom and I went to Denver. I had to drop off a form to Colorado State Board of Cosmetology. Then they send it to Nebraska. So I better get on the ball and send the other forms that Nebraska wants. After that we went to the Colorado Mills mall. Neither of us had been there and we have been talking about going for some time. Its a nice mall, but I think I might like Park Meadows better.

As for Saturday and Sunday, I worked... Saturday night I fell asleep on the couch while Erik watched The Last Samuri.

Hope you all had an exciting weekend.

1. Wedgie

3. I'm not sure what a Carbuncle is so I'll take the ingrown toenail.
4. I'm voting for Bush

Weight watchers week 3

Last night I went to my 3rd ww meeting. The topic was inspiration. I'm not quite sure what inspires me to want to lose weight. I know that I don't feel sexy being 40 pounds overweight. So I guess that is enough inspiration for me.

At weigh in I was .8 pounds less than I was last week. Its not much but it is a lose.. For those of you who are keeping track at home, last week I gained .2 and this week -.8 make a total of -.6...

A lady in the group found this on the internet. It has all the nutritional information from fast food places. Go visit there if you dare want to see what you are eating. They even have calculated the points for weightwatchers, its the "unofficial points" in blue...

Hope everyone has a great day...
