Since picking up the girls in Iowa, I have been thinking about moving closer to them. I was thinking about Omaha. When I got home and dared to speak this blasfamy to Erik, he said he'd rather live in Lincoln than Omaha. So for the past week we have been chatting amungst ourselves about the idea. There is a JC Penney Stying Salon there so I could transfer. We are still in the thought process but I would like to hear what any of you think... We would actually be more centrally located in the middle of our family... Here are the driving times to various locations where we have peeps.
Lincoln to Girls= 3 1/2 hours
Lincoln to Erik's Mom= 3 1/2 hours
Lincoln to here (my family and several of his)= 7 1/2 hours
Lincoln to Erik's Dad= 7 1/2 hours
Lincoln to Erik's Siblings= 11 hours
We are trying to mentally sort out the pros and cons. We need to sit down and write out our thoughts. Its much easier for me to have something to look at. We have been praying that God will give us a sign, to help us with this decision.
Any thoughts?

I personally like Lincoln, but of course that is near where I am from.

We like that area and in fact I still have family that life there, etc, etc, etc.
Just one thing to think about, when my wife's folks moved from there 2 years ago, the tags on their car cost $250. In TN they only cost $50. (Not sure what they cost in CO.) They also mentioned that property tax and a couple of other taxes were kinda high. Of course in a couple of years that might have changed - but who knows!
Anyway, as you're thinking - and I think it's a good idea to be closer to your girls, check those numbers out and see if they've improved any or if they've gotten worse!

I really wouldn't want to see you go, but I know you need to be closer to your girls and they need to see you more, and that would be a lot easier if you lived in Neb. I just wish you luck in whatever you decide

I just wish you could get them back. But if that's not possible Lincoln isn't a bad choice. Erik knows people there and don't forget KK is there...

Oh - I dont know - you'd be so close to the girls you could almost spend weekends with them. My ex and I meet halfway every other friday and sunday to exchange my son - and we live 300 miles apart! That would be great for you.
But I really cant guess about everything else...I'm 5 minutes from my inlaws and 3.5 hours from my folks.
