Take me out to the ball game...

We had such a blast at the Rockies game last night. We got to see one of our hitters get hit by a wild pitch, then later in the game Larry Walker hit the ball right into the pitcher's side. There were TONS of foul balls but none of them came into our section. We were sitting just to the left of home plate in the 33rd row. The final score was Rockies 8 Diamondbacks 4.

There was this older couple that were sitting next to us. They didn't show up til into the 2nd inning then the lady slept for a good 3 innings. So then in the 6 inning one of the ticket monitors came down and talked with them because they were in the wrong seats. The old guy knew he was in the wrong seats because he told the lady that his seats were in the row in front of him. He and his wife got all hostile because the ticket lady had 2 people who had tickets to the seats he was sitting in and she made him get out. I heard the lady say something about her "owning those seats". Needless to say the old couple didn't come back or sit in there proper seats. We got new neighbors who didn't even stay seated there for the rest of the game...

Challenge Day 1

Today is the first day of the Challenge...

For this one I'm going to go way back in time to "9th Grade Day". The year was 1987. It was the last day of 9th grade and the end of my Jr. high career. I remember laying out in the soccer field with all my close friends. In attendance were my then boyfriend Vince, my best friend Shalley, (who is still my best friend) Jeremy, Cathy, Shell, Diane. (I think that is all) As we laid there signing each other's yearbooks, someone started writing on my jean shorts, then everyone joined in. There were things like
"Vince~n~Cher"
"Shal~n~Jer"
"Poison"
"Bon Jovi"
"Def Lepard"
"Duran Duran"
"Class of 1990"

I kept those shorts for many years my bottom dresser drawer and every so often I would take them out and think about those times.

9th grade was a very good year. I made some lasting friendships. Vince was my first real love... I often think of him to this day. I'm curious to what became of him.

Monday, Monday

Today we went to Water World in Denver. We had a great time. I haven't been there in so many years. I think our favorite thing was "Thunder Bay". The big wave pool.

After leaving Water World we went to Cinzetti's for Dinner. We called up Tim and Mary and they joined us. After dinner we went to the Westminster Mall. The girls had some gift cards they needed to spend. It was a very full bit fun day...

Challenge 2

Hmmmm... I'll say today was a good moment.... Going to Water World.... It was all happy....

What's going on in my mind

Since picking up the girls in Iowa, I have been thinking about moving closer to them. I was thinking about Omaha. When I got home and dared to speak this blasfamy to Erik, he said he'd rather live in Lincoln than Omaha. So for the past week we have been chatting amungst ourselves about the idea. There is a JC Penney Stying Salon there so I could transfer. We are still in the thought process but I would like to hear what any of you think... We would actually be more centrally located in the middle of our family... Here are the driving times to various locations where we have peeps.

Lincoln to Girls= 3 1/2 hours
Lincoln to Erik's Mom= 3 1/2 hours
Lincoln to here (my family and several of his)= 7 1/2 hours
Lincoln to Erik's Dad= 7 1/2 hours
Lincoln to Erik's Siblings= 11 hours

We are trying to mentally sort out the pros and cons. We need to sit down and write out our thoughts. Its much easier for me to have something to look at. We have been praying that God will give us a sign, to help us with this decision.

Any thoughts?

Not Fun

Our computer is being a piece of s**t.... Making it very hard to blog and do the challenge. We may have a virus... Erik is trying to deal with it. I am going through withdrawls....

Sorry.

Someone after my heart....

Yesterday in Estes Park I saw this license plate....

GO4SBRG

So all day the girls were harrassing me, saying "Look Peter Forsberg!" As if I'd fall for that....

Man, I wish it were Hockey season....

Weekend update

Saturday my Dad took the girls to the Adams County fair. They went to see the Demolition Derby and ride a few rides. They had a good time. Erik bought Hidalgo and we stayed home and watched it.

Sunday was our friend Titus' birthday. He always has a big themed bash. This year was "Summer Fun". He had a T-shirt contest (not wet) and croquet, badmiton, and as always volleyball. We did a Pizza Derby.... You call several different pizza places and write down the time you ordered, and time them on how fast they deliver. Its sorta like betting on horses. Each person puts in 5 bucks or so for the pizza's and a quarter for each bet. Erik and Typhannie each won. The fastest delivery was Papa John's.

I was off yesterday and us girls just hung out around the house. We borrowed Titus' game "Scene It". (which BTW, is my favorite game and wouldn't be saddened if I were to get it for Christmas)

After Erik came home, we ate and got into the neighbors hot tub. Then we watched Hidalgo again (this time with the girls) and ate watermelon.

Its been fun having my girls here. Only a few days left though, I take them home on Friday.

All Fired Up....

I'm having a little anger issue right now.

It has been exactly 1 year 11 months and 3 weeks since I last saw my daughters. And my ex is pissed that I am bringing them back 1 day later than origanally planned. 1 day!! Because that day is his and his new wife's anniversary. They wanted the girls back before their anninversary. (to babysit, I'm sure) Should I tell you about the holiday's he has ruined for me?

Easter 2001- He is still living here and the girls are living with him. He agrees to spend 1/2 the day with his family and bring the girls to my parents for the other half. Never happens.... I call his parents house multiple times, no answer.

Summer 2001- He moves him and the girls to Iowa.

Christmas 2001- He is suposed to bring the girls to Colorado for New Years. My whole family has changed their plans to have Christmas on New Years day instead, to spend it with the girls. I call him on the 30th to wish my youngest a Happy Birthday and find out when they are coming. He says "Oh, we aren't coming until the 7th." Um.... Bullshit! So I ask if I can come get them. And I leave less than 2 hours later and drive 12 hours straight there and 12 hours back. He picked them up a week later.

Summer 2002- He him-haws til the end of July about me getting to see them. I go out there and they have to be back in 1 week. And I take them back.

Christmas 2002- Girls can't come, going to South Dakota to see Uncle.

One week before Mother's day 2003- He tell's me the girls are mad at me and don't want to visit me at all this summer. We have a long heated arguement. I spend the rest of the day laying in bed in tears.

Thanksgiving 2003- He comes to my work, looking for me, without the girls. Pretty much to let me know that they are in town. We talk about me having the girls on Weds. night. I give him a sticky note with my number and he agrees to call me after 10pm to make arangments. Never calls.... I find out before Christmas from my oldest that he told them I was going to call. How can I call him If I don't know where they are staying?

Christmas 2003- Girls can't come, going to South Dakota to see Uncle. (I'm starting to see a pattern)

January 2004- I start putting a bug in their ears about how much I want to see them. And continue to do so until we get a date set, which was in late June.

Christmas 2004- Both girls have expressed interest in a Colorado Christmas. We'll see....

And he's pissed because I am bringing them home a day late?!?!?!?

I'm BA-ack!

I have returned from returning my girls to their father. Have I mentioned lately that he's not one of my favorite people.

Anyway, we left yesterday at 5 in the bloody morning. The girls and I slept in my parents camper Thursday night, and got up at 4. I got no sleep at all. Maybe 2 hours. We got to their house around 4-ish in the afternoon. We stayed there saying goodbye for about 20 minutes or so. Actually we don't say goodbye, we say "see ya later", I started that about 2 years ago when I saw them last.

My mom and I stayed the night in Lincoln. As we were watching the news in the hotel room Typhannie called me. She was VERY UPSET and missing me. I had told her something very special on Thursday night. About how much I love her and how much she means to me. Poor thing was crying so hard she had a hard time even breathing and I really couldn't make out what she was saying. In the end she wanted me to tell her again what I told her. After a few minutes she seemed to calm down. I was so worried about her all night.

As soon as we got home I called her to let her know we got here ok. (she wanted me too) She sounded alot better.

So I think that really helped me decide.

I want to move to Lincoln. I stole a Lincoln phone book from the hotel room and picked up alot of touristy literature.

That's all for now, I'm tired, its been a long day....

Missing

I have nothing to say today except I miss my girls like crazy and am trying to hold myself togerther...

Eating ice cream and watching "Trading Spaces" worked alittle, looking at recently developed pictures of them did not.

Signs

Erik and I are still talking about moving to Lincoln. We are planning on going there in October to check things out. We have asked God to give us a sign, but we haven't seen anything. We sorta need something concrete.

So God, if you read my blog can you please send us a sign to let us now what direction we need to go in. And can you make it big and flashy yellow neon? Thanks, Amen.

CHI class

Yesterday at work we had a 4 hour class on chemically straightning hair. I will be Chi certified by the end of today. That is a good thing. To get the Chi service it costs $400. It is the only hair straightning process that leaves the hair healthier than what it was before you started. I was very sceptical before now I am truely amazed.

The manican I did yesterday had been highlighted and colored and then I permed her. Her hair was super fried and after the Chi service her hair is soft and shiney. I realize the cost is way out of this world but, man the results are beyond awesome... Today we are doing live models and I am bringing in my good friend Claire. I can't wait to see the results on her. Her hair should feel 10 times better than my manican's since she doesn't have trashed hair to begin with.

Writing Club

Tonight at work my coworkers Janice and Mary and myself came up with a good idea. We started a writing club. I have had friends in writing clubs before, but I never felt that I was as good a writer as they were so I never joined them.

Anyway Janice, Mary and I all close on Wednesday nights so after work we plan on going to a resteraunt and share with each other what we have writen that week. Some weeks we will have specific topics and others free writing. This week to start it off we are doing a free thing. We can write about whatever we want and in any form we want. And we will offer each other constructive critisism. We are not to judge each other.

I have had this idea for a novel for about a year or so. So this week I am going to work on a chapter of that.

I haven't done any creative writing since High School, and I'm sure that I am not the same writer I once was. But It should be fun. Maybe I will even share some of my writings here. But not yet...

Day Off

Today is my day off and I normally like to sleep in as late as possible. Well my parents dog (they live next door, remember?) has been barking constantly since 7am. She gets herself in between the fence and the garbage bin, which is the part of their yard that is closest to our bedroom window.

So at 8:30 I give up and get out of bed. She's still barking, hasn't she done her duty of getting me out of bed?

Now ALL the dogs that surround our back yard are howling. That usually means they can hear sirens somewhere in the city. Well thank you for alerting me!

Grouchy

Getting up earlier than I wanted sure has put me in a foul disposition.... I think maybe I'll take myself to the $2 movie tonight...

Recipe for Happiness

Its amazing how Tom Hanks and Bon Jovi can fix your mood. I cranked up my car stereo and wen to see the Terminal.

I really enjoyed it, I don't think Tom Hanks can make a bad movie... He's great, and I am thankful to him for giving me the attitude adjustment I needed today.

The Legend of the Wedding Band

I found this in High School and liked it very much. I recently found it again and wanted to share it with you.

The Legend of the Wedding Band

"In a fair and far off country many centuries ago, a kind young
King was married to a princess he loved so.
Together they lived happily until one day
Beauty's worst enemy would force the King to travel far away.
One night before he left, as he walked throughout the palace grounds,
He tossed into a moonlit pool some pebbles that he had found.
As the lovely ripples widened from where the little pebbles fell;
The King stood thinking quietly of the wife he loved so well.
And remembering the next day the surface he had seen,
He had a gold ring made to fit the finger of the Queen.
"There is no Ending or Beginning to the circle on this band,"
The King said to his wife, as he slipped it on her hand.
"And that's why I have chosen this golden ring
To be a pledge to you that my love will last through all Eternity."
And so sinse then a gold ring has been the symbol
Of beauty, devotion, and the endlessness of Love.
May all the Love and Happiness you two have found together,
Like the circle of the wedding band, go on and on forever."

Bliss

Ahhh... The past 2 days have been completly blissfull. We did a whole lot of nothing yesterday. Erik played on the computer all day and I watched countless hours of TLC. I also colored my mom's hair. We ate dinner, I watched "Extreme Home Makeover" and again that show made me weepy. Around 9 we watched "HellBoy" in the bedroom and then went to sleep.

Today I slept in til 11.... It was great.....

August 25, 2004

HellBoy

WOW, so nobody liked Hellboy, according to the comments. Well it definatly isn't on my top ten list. Matter of fact there isn't any "comic book movie" on my top ten list. Really though, I didn't think Hellboy was that bad. I have seen worse.

Anyway, I'm in a rush this morning. I have to be to work 2 hours early. I'm gonna color Mary's (another stylist) hair then we have a shop meeting. Our beloved manager Alfred is leaving us, so this is his last meeting with us. We are all very sad, But I'll tell ya all about that later.

Gotta run...

Date Night

Erik isn't gaming tonight, so the 2 of us and 2 other couples are going out on the town. We were going to meet one of the couples in Greeley (they live in Northeast Denver) and go play some mini-golf, but the weather is forcing us to find an indoor activity. So we are staying in town and they are coming down here. We will find something else to do and get some food after...

Today was my manager's last day at work so we had alittle potluck party. It was a bit sad. Her really is a great manager, one of the best I have ever worked for in the hair industry.... No, wait, He is the best I have worked for. I will miss him.

Hiking

Yesterday after work we (Erik, myself, Titus, Llamrei, Theo and Claire) all went to Lory State Park and went for a hike. The first part of it was pretty hard for me. I am VERY out of shape. Then once we got past the hard part it was great. I'm not sure how far we traveled but I'm thinking around 3 miles. At one point I started to feel like a Hobbit and going through the forest for 100 pages.... After the hike we went to feed Llamrei's horse and then to the store and to T&L's house. We all made our own pizza (not frozen) and watched some of the Olympics. It was quite a great day.

While I was gone I left my cell phone at home because the battery was so dead and I didn't think I would get a good enough signal up there. But WOW! I missed 3 calls that were invites to go out.... That never happens, 3 seperate invitations! Now today I am going to have to call them all and tell them why I never called them back.

Hope everyone's weekend is going good!

Juicy bits

Hmmmm... I didn't want to get into the whole thing, so here are some juicy bits about the place I used to work at....

August 31, 2004

ALIAS

Yeah!! I'm so happy Alias Season 3 comes out next week... It was a good year... Lots of excitement, I can't wait to relive it... I just learned that the series doesn't restart until January, I thought it was September all summer, and I had something to look forward to. Now all my dreams have been crushed.

Today I was really busy at work. I did 2 foil highlights. The first gal had very long hair, we did 3 colors. (blonde, red and brown) She loved it. (like they all do) The second was 2 different shades of blonde, and she loved it too... It was good to be that busy. The past 3 weeks it had been slow at work. I hope this busy trend hangs around.

Ass Kickin'

Did I tell you about how much of an ass kickin' that little hike gave me? I have been pretty sore and stiff since then.... I know, I'm a big baby....
