In what 80's movie is Jeff Goldblum, Jim Carrey and Damon Wayans all aliens from the planet Jhazzallah?
Yep... Watched Extreme Makeover Home Edition and Alias... OOOOHHH!!! Just so you know Alias is getting close to the end... And its driving me nuts!!
Its my day off, I've been pretty productive so far. I went to the grocery store and got groceries for the week, mowed the back lawn, (Erik did the front yesterday) I am going to clean the bathroom and the kitchen and then make a fabulous Manacotti dinner...
And sometime today, I am going to sit down and contimplate 100 things about me. Then I will email them to my blog guru, who will then soon-ish get a link up...
Here are some new blogs I found today that made me smile...
Gratuitus Sax and Senseless Violins
Its So Not About You
Piehole
I Don't Think
Check them out, I hope you smile too...
YEA!! The Redwings have been stopped by the Flames!! Now the AVS just have to pull it together tomorrow...
Why the sun lightens your hair but darkens you skin?
Why don't you ever see the headline "Psychic Wins The Lottery"?
Why is it that doctors call what they do, "practice"?
Why is the man who invests all you money called a broker?
Why is the time of day with the slowest traffice called "rush hour"?
Why isn't there mouse flavored cat food?
Why didn't Noah swat those 2 mosiquitos?
Why do we sterilize needles for lethal injection?
Why don't sheep shrink when it rains?
Why are they called apartments when they are all stuck together?
If flying is so safe, why do they call the airport the terminal?
Yesterday I did this REMARKABLE(yes, it was that good) highlight/lowlight job on this lady, who is a Redwings fan... She jinxed my team, I know it... They lost last night and now there is no Stanley Cup in our near future.
Then I get home and Erik gives me the low-down on the game and tells me what happened during the after game report thing... There may be NO HOCKEY next season... They are talking about a STRIKE... This news deeply sadens me... And if there is a strike we could lose both Peter and Joey... That sadens me even more... I've know for the past 2 years that this could be Peter's last year but Joe too? Geesh-- What are we to do? These are sad times, people...
Work has been going pretty well the past 2 weeks... I've been reaching the little goals I set for myself. I have been doing alot of chemical services, which I love... And been getting decent tips!
Today I am going out to lunch with my good friend Amanda from my former place of employment... It will be fun to get all the juicy gossip... And we are going to my favorite place... Red Robin...
Nothing terribly exciting is going on around here.
I have to clean house today and tomorrow go to DIA and pick up Jamie and Erik's sister Michelle. Jamie is returning from her trip to India and Michelle is coming to visit and go to Janet's graduation. Jamie's last layover is in Detroit and that is where Michelle is so Michelle was able to get out on the same flight as Jamie. Which is very good for me, now I only have to make one trip to the airport.
Sorry there hasn't been nothing to say, the past few days I have been working...
Some people go out for a morning jog, I stay in for a morning blog...
This is how I get ready for work... I take a shower, get dressed, fix my hair THEN... I grab my makeup and sit at the computer and check out the ton of blogs I read... I start with the family then move to my special favorites folder called "Blogs". I'm not even sure how many I read anymore... I'm sure it takes me 3 times as long to put on my makeup, but its my morning ritual...And I like it...
I hate it when I miss a day, its like forgetting to call a friend and seeing how they are doing that day..
Yesterday was our 4th Anniversary... We had a great day...
First we went to the Ft. Collins mall were Michelle and I got our makeup done at Clinique. Then Erik, Michelle and myself headed to Denver. We ate at my favorite Italian place, Cinzetti's... Went to Old Navy, 16th Street Mall and Cost Plus World Market. And if that wasn't enough, on the way home we stopped by to see Herb and Sue. Only Sue was there, Herb hadn't gotten back yet.
After a nice visit we decided to pick up a few groceries at Super Wal*Mart... So I got to see my girls at Cost Cutters... Man I miss them...
Jamie came over around 10pm and showed us her pictures of India... WOW!
Yesterday Erik, Michelle and I went with a large group of our friends to see TROY.. I very much enjoyed this one... I'm not sure how closely it stayed to the book, but I liked it very much. There was lots of man flesh, a love story and sword fighting... Did I mention there was man flesh? I will go see this one again... 3 hours and 10 minutes of man flesh!
Naked Brad count--6... :-)
Naked Orlando count--1 (maybe 2)...
AARRGGHH!! Right now, I am on hold with AT&T Wireless... Erik and I got new cell phones on Friday May 7th. Then on the following Tuesday I turned on my old phone to get a phone number out of the thing, but as soon as I turned it on I recieved a text message on my old phone not the new one. That isn't suposed to happen. And I used the old one to make a call... So ever since then I can't get any text messaging at all... So now I am on hold...
Ok, I just got to talk to someone briefly, then she put me on hold... Then I got cut off... and had to call back and be on hold... FUN!
Just talked to person #2, and am on hold again... This girl told me that I shouldn't be able to use the old phone after the 7th, and I told her I did call out on it and she said, "you shouldn't be able to do that..." "Well NO SHIT!! Why do you think I am calling?"
Today sucked... I got up at the asscrack of dawn (7am) and took Michelle to the airport. Got back around 11, talked to Kat on the phone and then slept til 1:45 or so... Then watched TLC til 4. At that time Erik came home and we watched Pirates Of The Caribbean, and napped again...
Yesterday, Michelle and I went apartment looking with Jamie. Then I did Janet's hair for her 8th grade graduation thingy... Then we went to the graduation thingy. After that we went to Herb and Sue's to hang out and chat since Michelle was leaving...
Monday, Erik, Michelle and I went up to Estes Park for the most of the day... We headed to Tim and Mary's around 3:30... Went to Macaroni Grill and bowling with them... Had a blast drinking margaritas... We bowled 2 games and as embarrassing as it is I scored a whopping 81 and 60~something... Tim pretty much kicked all our asses and Erik came in right behind him...
Ok, this is something I have wanted since I went to the hair show back in March... And now its $10 cheaper than it was... I'm not trying to get anyone to buy it for me, so don't think that this is some shameless plea. Just thought I'd share it with you all because I really don't have anything else to talk about...
After another hour on hold with AT&T wireless, we got the bloody text messaging fixed. Now I am able to recieve them once again.....
Many thanks to George at AT&T... (now I will be able to sleep at night...)
Just got back for seeing Troy again... This time with Janet and Jodi... Don't think I will get sick of this one for a while...
Ever have one of those days that you are just completely bored out of your bleeding mind? That's me, right now...
I can't find a movie to watch, can't find anything on TV, even TLC isn't holding my attention. I've tried to read, play gamecube and even TSO... NOTHING! I'm just so bloody restless...
Got any bloody ideas?
I did it... I compiled a list of 100 things about myself... It should be up soon, when Scott gets a minute...
Enjoy...
Thinking about Greek Mythology, (the stoyies of TROY). Do the Greeks call it Mythology or do they call it History?
Just wondering...
As I am putting on my make-up, getting ready for work and blogging I am eating a breakfast that consists of Red Bull and whole wheat toast...
Something's gotta get me going...
Its suposed to be a partly cloudy 80 degree day today, and I have to work... What do you have planned? Whatever it is I hope you all are enjoying the weekend.
For some reason we only have one person who works Monday evenings and she is on vacation this week. So I opted to work tonight. Which is totally fine with me because:
A) We really need the money
and
B) Once again its my day off and I am completely bored out of my bloody mind... (I can't seem to figure out why I am so bored lately)
While I am working tonight Erik's uncle Thorban is coming over to take a look at my car and see if it is something he can fix. It makes this terrible grinding noise whenever I make right hand turns. My dad seems to think it is the wheel baring on the front passenger side. Bloody figures that my car is falling apart, since Erik has needed new tires for months and I ended up getting new tires before him. Now this... There's always something...
WHAT NOW??
I have been advised not to drive my car until the wheel baring gets fixed on Thursday. So til then I am walking the 9 or so blocks to the downtown bus depot and taking the bus to work. Then Erik will pick me up at 9... Its not so bad, really... I'll be getting free exercise...
I actually enjoy going for walks, it gives me time to clear my head...
Nothing too exciting to report today... I am making the world a more beautiful place, one head at a time...
I had to walk again to catch the bus, and it is 12 blocks not the origanally thought 9... I have painful shin splints right now. I am so terribly out of shape that it hurts... Literally... I know, I'm a big baby...
I think someone is playing games with me... My links over there to the left keep changing the order that they are in. I get used to where one is and I find that it has been moved. Maybe that's normal, and since I've just recently added them I've never noticed it move around before. Oh well....
First of all I have nothing against anybody who may be Bipolar.
I work with 3 ladies who are Bipolar and only one of them drives me bonkers... I think it is completely unprofessional to be speaking to the client sitting in your chair about your illness's. Especially any mental illness... I happen to think that people come to the salon to get away from work or the kids and to be pampered alittle. It should be all about them... Its almost like going to therapy for some woman.
I've seen people in her chair looking at me with this "get me out of here" expression as she goes on about her life story. Its quite sad if you ask me... I wonder if these people will be back in our salon, I wouldn't.
This same woman has been depending on me to take her home each night. She doesn't drive her car because she can't afford to register it and get insurance. I've told her that she needs to get insurance on one paycheck and register it on the next. So now that my car is out for a few days, she acting like I need to ask whoever is getting me home to take her home. She doesn't know that its Erik who is picking me up. And I'm certainly not going to expect him to put up with her.
The first night that he picked me up I had to tell her that I couldn't take her home this week because of my car. And her response was, (in a very whinny 5 year old voice) "Well, I just don't know what I'm going to do." She had no concern for me and the fact that I am without a car. And let me add she has never given any gas money to me.
And to top it off this woman is in her 50's.... can you believe that?
Last night Erik downloaded "Solitare" on my cell phone. I've never been to much into games on the cell phone, but now how am I going to stop?
We rented movies for the first time in along time... Here's the list
Miracle
Big Fish
Johnny English
Timeline
You didn't honestly think I wouldn't see a little British comedy, now did you?
Hmmm... for some reason my blogrolling sidebar thing is MIA. I didn't take it off because I don't love all who are on it... I have contacted the proper authorities and hopefully it will be back soon...
So for the time being I have to rely on my old favorites list in the bookmarks.
In order of viewing...( I just looked at our reciept from Blockbuster and that is the order they are on it too.)
Miracle-- Very good... I love Hockey, no surprise ending. 3 1/2 stars
Big Fish-- Very, Very good... Erik cried... Scott you must see this one. 5 stars
Johnny English-- OMG! Freakin' funny... 3 stars
Timeline-- Very, very good-- alittle hard to follow at first but well worth the effort. 4 1/2 stars...
And there you have it.
I'd like to say a big "Hello and welcome to blogland" to LeeAnne. She's a friend of Erik and Scott's from High School...
