Dream Hair

I don't really have much to say. The new job is going well. I am really starting to feel more at home there...

Yesterday one of my clients whom I had at CC, came in to have her highlights done. I'm telling ya, this woman (Kim) is the cutest... Her hair is awesome, and is how I am trying to grow mine out. Someday I will get a picture of her so I can hang it in my bathroom and dream about having her hair. Its not long at all, just super cute. The fringe (or bangs) is about 8 inches long and the back is rather short. (Cut to her neckline) And its all razored throughout the top, making it really choppy... I love it... I should be able to really start geting that style in a month or two... She really has a fun personality, it makes my day when I see her.

Its my day off today and I don't have anything planned. I thought about doing a deep conditioning on my hair and a face mask... Going out for a manicure and pedicure would be nice too, but that ain't gonna happen.

Cry night

Has anyone seen the Extreme Makeover show that are on ABC? Anyway we watched the Home Edition before and it was on last night. Its were they take a very deserving family and send them to DisneyWorld for 7 days while they totally revamp their house... They Totally gut the house and start all over... It is such a touching show. The host is my favorite carpenter from Trading Spaces, Ty. Well we watched that then right after I dry my eyes the Extreme Makeover about people comes on and I never saw it so we watched it... Not 5 minutes into it I am getting weepy... The stories about these people are just incredible.

Now tell me, why is it I cry at a home improvment show and not at the "Passion of the Christ"? OY!

Movie Trivia IV

This one is ment to be a little tougher than the others.... This may be only for the true movie geeks...

What movie is this from and who said it?

"Your heart is free, have the courage to follow it..."

Good Luck...

weekend update

This weekend was fairly good compaired to recent weekends.

I worked Saturday and was able to get off at 5 rather than 7. We went to an SCA event for once... (its been a long time) It was Dance College We really had a good time seeing people we haven't seen in a while. And dancing! The feast was Delicious!! Greek food... Then after that a few of us went to Village Inn for cokes. (Titus, Llamrei, Theo, Claire, Erik, myself and my own Gywnn) We stayed til 1:30 am (before we changed our clocks)

Today we went to Herb and Sue's to celebrate Herb's birthday... Had a good time... BBQ'd... I got to go play in the "workshop" with Herb... I am so excited!! We (well mostly I watched) build a stand/shelf for my TV in the bedroom to be on and have the DVD player under it... It was Tim's invention... And we built my invention, a scissor holder thingy...

Now all I need to do is get Herb to build me the thing that he was so proud of that he invented... (subtle hint!)

After we came home Erik and I watched the movie that inspired the movie trivia below...

BiPolar Circus

I haven't had much to say the past few days, due to things at work stressing on me... Aparently I work with 2 possibly 3 people who are Bipolar.... I have never been around people with any sort of mental illness. And OH MY WORD, its beginning to ware me down... One of them doesn't stop talking about it.

I have a friend who is a therapist and I am going to sit down and chat with him and try to find a way for me to deal with this so's that it doesn't make me crazy....

Good Friday

There was no school today for public school, and as you could imagine the traffic in town was terrible. I went to lunch at Taco Bell (Toxic Hell) our weekly ordeal.

Erik was off work by then and we celebrated my first paycheck at the new job by going to Super Wal*mart to get $100 of groceries.... Its amazing how far $100 goes for just the two of us... Then I went to work and Erik went home with the groceries...

The Mall was a zoo... There were teenagers everywhere. I even saw a couple waiting in line to get a picture with the Easter Bunny... Work wasn't that exciting. The Bipolar Circus crew weren't on tonight, so I stayed in good spirits.

After work Jamie came over and we watched Hannibel. She just left and I'm heading to bed.

Good night all...

Easter Weekend

Saturday night after I worked. Jamie came over and we were going to have a Matrix Marathon. Halfway through the first one we decided to only watch the third one, otherwise we'd be up til 4....

Sunday was Easter. Useally we go to my parents. But they ditched us by going to their friends', Nick and Karla. So we went to Thorban and Susan's. Ate and watched "Brother Bear" and "Cheaper by the Dozen" After watching Brother Bear the girls made me answer all these questions to find out what my totem is. Its an Otter! How Fun!!

Erik and I came home and I watched "Extreme Makeover, Home Edition", he played on the computer. Then we both watched "The Nick and Jessica Variety Show", (which really was quite funny) and last most not least we watched "Alias".

I wish someone would just kill Lauren already... You know they aren't going to figure it out til the last episode then they will leave us hangin'. Just like the end of last season...

April 14, 2004

Kill Bill

Right away from the previews I didn't want to see "Kill Bill". For 3 reasons, I don't like Quentin Tarentino movies and it involves alot of martial arts that I am not into and I think Uma Thurman is an alien.

Well it came out on DVD yesterday and Erik had seen it in the theatres, so he really wanted it. He also really wanted me to see it. So He got it and subjected me to it last night. I was better than I expected... I actually enjoyed it. There was too much blood, but a good story.

Well guess what? The sequel comes out this Friday and in the first one they really keep you hanging at the end. So now I have to go see the second one so I can get the end of the story.

In other news... Yesterday at work we had an ear piercing training thing. In order to pierce ears we have to go through this. We weren't told to have models there so I was a model. I got a second hole and a cartlidge done in my right ear.

Man sleeping was a pain last night. Mostly because of Erik not my ear. He has a cold or something and was coughing and sniffling and carrying on... It is a known fact that men are the biggest babies when there are sick, why is that?

Movie trivia VI

Ok kiddies... its been awhile but here it goes.

"Moon River" comes from what classic movie?

*hint* its in my "favorites of all time" catagory...

Terrible Bad news...

Erik got a call today from his mom. (who lives in KC) His Uncle Bill (who lives in Seattle) was Murdered on Monday evening. Unfortunatly there isn't much info... But I read today that there has been an arrest made.

We are really just in a state of shock... I have only met Bill a few times and I just can't see how someone could have done this... I'll try to keep things posted on it here.

New face

How do ya like the new face of my website? I love it... Scott is amazing! Thank you very much for this...

Tonight I did the craziest thing ever. I actually went to the Tiffany & Co website. I ordered a catalog too...

I know that I would never be able to afford anything from the catalog, but it doesn't cost anything to dream right? And since we are dreaming we might as well DREAM BIG!! And if by any chance I did recieve a gift from Tiffany's I know that I would die right then and there of a heartattack...

100 things

I've seen on many other blogs, people listing 100 things about themselves. I think I am going to work on that...(not just because everyone else is doing it, Mom...) Just as a challenge, do I really know 100 things about me? I'll work on it at work during my down time, that should make the time go by faster...

April 19, 2004

days off

I was going to blog something today, but never got around to it... I had yesterday and today off... Today I spent just about every moment playing TSO.

Yesterday, we just sorta lounged around til afternoon. Then we went to see Kill Bill vol. 2. I liked it better than the first one. It finished the story nicely... I never really understood Quentin Tarantino movies...The reason why I don't care for his movies is... He jumps around to much with the time frame... It confuses me... But this one was good. We watched the first one again Saturday night to be ready to see the conclusion... Oh and by the way... I still think Uma Thurman is an alien... just wait...

We went to get our movie tickets at 2pm and had two hours to kill so we went to Macaroni Grill and ate a lunch/Dinner. The first time we went there, right after they opened... The service sucked... it was better this time

Movie Trivia VII

Ok Kids...

Who said this and what movie...

"Are ya gonna bark all day little doggie, or are ya gonna bite?"

Sweater weather

I was totally planning on wearing this cute little dress today and when I got up and went out into the front room I find that it really isn't the right time to wear a dress. At least not the one I had in mind. Its rather gloomy out. I checked the Weather Bug and its only 48 degrees and 51% humidity... That can't be right? Anyway, Time to put on slacks and a sweater... Maybe I can wear the dress tomorrow... Have a nice day everyone.

redlights

Oh and in other news, I put Redlights in my hair last week and they are beginning to fade... so sad...

DMV = HELL!

Recently (on 3/29/04) I spent some time at the DMV, renewing my drivers license. Well they have a new way of issueing licenses now... You go there spent an hour or more standing in line. You go through the same process that its always been but at the end after they take the worst picture of you ever, when they USED TO hand you your new license they tell you that it will come to you in the mail in 7 - 10 days.

So it has been longer than 7 - 10 days for me its been more like 24 days. And the proof of renewal form that they give you is only good for 30 days. So I go in there today and wait in line for 15 or so minutes and when I get up to the girl behind the desk and tell her what going on she takes me over to the camera area and looks in one of those expanding file things and doesn't find it! She then tells me to come back a few days before the proof thing expires, because (get this) sometimes the post office loses it, or it gets sent back to them...

So in order to get my drivers license I have to wait for it to come in the mail and so far make 2 trips down there to the DMV and wait in lines...

AND SOMEHOW THIS WAY IS BETTER THAN THEM JUST HANDING IT TO YOU ON YOUR FIRST VISIT!!!

And... Not only did the cost of renewing go up 60 cents but someone has to pay for the postal service to mail it to you... Go figure...

April 23, 2004

things on my mind

At 5:13 this morning I was beginning to rethink the Red Bull I had around 10pm. I thought I was going to stay up and play TSO til the wee hours, but instead I watched Sinbad (the cartoon) with Erik then read til 2am... Any way I sorta have alot to get done today.

Go Get paycheck
Cash it
Spend it
Visit my friend Gwynn in the hospital
Apply somewhere else for a new job

I am also thinking that working at JC Penney's is not gonna work out. The pay isn't exactly what they told me and its extremely slow. If the only way to make money there is through the walk-in business then I am in trouble...The company doesn't advertise very much for the salon and therefore I can't reach my commission and that leaves me making only minimum wage... I have been doing this for 12 years and I think I should be above minimum wage, don't you?

Movie Trivia VIII

Ok, this one is fun...

What movie is this line from?

"Oh, get a shirt on before you poke someone's eye out"

hehehe!!!

Day Off

Well my day off is nearly ended... It was a mostly productive day... I got several things off my list. Not the new job thing, I'm gonna stick it out alittle longer.

While we all we at the weekly Taco Bell lunchon I got a call from a girl at work whose husband is a supervisor at Savers. I told him last week that if he came across a tredmill to let me know. He got one in and I got it for $20. I'm so excited! I have been wanting one for months... Now I won't have to join a gym.

After Taco Bell but before I got the tredmill, Jamie and I went shopping at JC Penney's... We each got a few things on clearence and with my 20% off, we did real good! Our bill was $68 and our savings were $87! That was the highlight of my day! Telling Erik that I bought another pair of shoes is a different story... But come on, they were on sale from $45 to $25 and I got an employee discount! That's double savings!

So for the rest of my day off I am going to clean the front room and find a spot for my new toy! (not the shoes)

Prom weekend

This weekend was Prom for 2 of the nearby High Schools. I had to do 4 updo's on Saturday. There really isn't anything that hard about updo's but they just mentally drain me. I have to use all my creative energy to make each one unique and individual. I feel like I wasn't having the most creative ideas that day, but when the day was over one of my fellow hairstylists gave me a huge compliment.

She Said "Cheryl, you really are a DAMN GOOD hairstylist."

Wow, that took me back a step... I reallly didn't know what to say. So I said "Thanks."

So anyway Saturday was a full day at the salon and so was Sunday. I was whooped at the end...And I still am tired...

Saturday was also Aimee's 25th birthday so we went out to dinner at Coopersmith's and then to Ben and Jerry's for Desert.

Sunday Titus called and wanted us to go out with them to the Armadillo. We had to rush home to watch ALIAS!

There are only 2 episodes left for the season and I already know they are going to leave us hanging in a big way... I can't talk about what is going on because Scott and Staci don't have regular TV and have to wait for it to come out on DVD... BUT OH MY WORD!!!! Guys, call me as soon as you see the 3rd season, I have so much to talk about....

new blogs

I was just surfing around looking at new blogs....
Here are some I really liked...

I haven't had or really wanted to do much this afternoon... So that's about it...

Ok, so over the weekend and yesterday, I have decided not to seek another job. I am just going to promote myself everywhere I go... Handing out my card to everybody I meet, maybe even posting my card at any bulliton board I see. I know deep in my heart I can make it... Is everybody with me?

The $200 million question

What would you do if you won a $200 million jackpot and taxes were already taken out?

I would pay off all my debts, buy a house on some property. Go shopping to fully furnish the house. Buy all new clothes and shoes not looking at price tags. Send Erik to School to get a degree. Work maybe 3 days a week. Shop 4 days a week! Set up huge trust funds for my kids. Buy a brand new car... maybe 2...And go on a LONG vacation in Europe...

I think that would do it for me.

April 30, 2004

can't sleep

So here I am, at nearly 2am... I can't sleep... I finished my latest mystery novel. "If Looks Could Kill" By Kate White. I laid in bed for almost an hour before deciding to get up and get on the computer. Also I am filing down my newly acrylic'd nails. I got them alittle longer than I really wanted. So it gives me something to do while I try to get tired...

ROUND #3 AT THE DMV...

So I still haven't gotten my license in the mail as promised... And the bloody 30 days are up yesterday. So I went in there to A) see if it has shown up there and B) to see what they suggested be the next step. To my shock it had NOT turned up there, BIG SURPRISE!! Then I tell them what an agrivating mess their "new" procedures are. And they were actually nice about it. (which doesn't make it any less agrivating) They then tell me that they will redo the license for me at no cost. And I will get it in the mail in 7-10 days... And they sugegest I talk to the post office.

So then I go to the post office, also because there are several other pieces of mail I have not gotten. I wait in line after about 7 people. There are only 2 post office people working and more people coming in behind me. When I get up to the counter, I can't think of what to say so I just blurt out "I'm not getting all my mail." So he says, "let me get you a supervisor"

Well low and behold, the supervisor who helps me is in charge of my mail carrier. I then tell her that I'm not getting all our mail and she says, "what makes you say that?" I then go through telling her about several things including my drivers license and state board of cosmetologists license renewal form and several other things that I knew were coming but not received... I give her our address and she new our name and said that she hasn't seen anything come back for us. But she would keep an eye out...

So what am I suposed to do now? She never mentioned that...I think that the post office and the DMV are somehow in this together.

In the mail...

Oh! One thing did come in the mail that I was expecting to "get lost" because it is something I was really wanting... My Tiffany catalog! I'm so excited to be on such a mailing list!

Day off

Today has been pretty laxed... Did the Friday Taco Bell thing... Picked up the next Kate White book, "A Body To Die For".(and spotted the next one not yet in paperback) Went next door and chilled with my parents while Erik was napping. Then went to Texas Roadhouse with Erik and my parents... (My parents treat... very cool) Came home and relaxed with a very full belly, watched "Sweet Home Alabama". And now I'm gonna go dive into the bathtub with my new book...
