ooo... Steve Moore is a cutie! Why don't I follow hockey closer? I want to! So some of the reading says bertuzzi's attack was a retaliation for Moore's attack on a Canuck at an earlier game that resulted in a concussion. Were any charges leveled against him for that occurance? Now I certainly understand that there is a high level of aggression on the ice, hockey is known for brawls, but should anyone be concussing anyone during these games?

Yeah, I agree with you, life suspension. There's a guy at work that talks sports with me all the time and we were talking about this just this morning. What are sports coming to? Drugs, steroids, rape and murder charges, insane amounts of money, incredibly poor sportsmanship, and greedy/bad attitudes. Ugh.

Oh man, I keep seeing on ESPN and the news video of that hit and it makes me sick to my stomach.
Sick cuz it's one of my Av's. Sick cuz it truly was a cheap shot. Sick because Betruzzi was a yellow-bellied chicken and attacked from behind.
Sick because it is showing us just exactly where sports - as much as I love them - is heading slowly but surely down the tube.
I was proud to see, and I think it was Sakic, come to Moore's defense so quickly and get after Betruzzi.
In thinking about it - I'm not sure it would be such an impact on my thought had it not been an Av - but then again, maybe.
Anyway, I agree, if it'd been an accident/legal hit - suspended the rest of the season. But since it was not about hockey and just trying to 'even' the score - he ought to be banned for life.
That'd clean up hockey a little bit and keep it more about the game and less about the fights.
Of course, who really thinks the NHL is going to give him more than a year's suspension raise your hands...
...uh huh - just like I thought, no takers - yup, just a little slap on the wrist and a 30 second tongue lashing, "Now no more fighting. Now get out there and play some hockey."

Steve, I think you are right, he's not likely to get anything more than this season suspension they've just slapped on him, but from what I've read, that was a career ender for McSorley in 2000 anyhow. Anyone know more details about how that finished him? How come sports "heroes" can't act like heroes? For crap sake, they are handed an extravagant lifestyle just because they have some physical co-ordination, you'd think they could show some appreciation to the fans who put them there. "I didn't ask to be a role model" they whine... well pal, no one wants to see a dirt bag make good, especially on their entertainment dollar, so play the role or go flip burgers.
