The Oscars

This was probably one of my least favorite Acadamy Awards show I have ever seen. I knew what/who all the winners were before they anounced it. There were no surprises at all. My favorite part was when Charlize Theron gave her acceptance speach for Best Lead Actress. My least part of it was the politics and Bush bashing... The commercials were "superbowl quality" And finially "Lord of th Rings" won Best Picture...

Other than that not alot has been going on here. My Girls (Jerri, Aimee, Meranda, Sammi and Jamie) and I went dancing Thursday and Saturday night. At this rate I will be shedding some pounds fast... I hope!

Saturday Erik and I went to an antique Toy show with some friends at the new Budwieser Event Center (aka the new fair grounds) I came home with 3 smurfs. I used to have about 20-25 little smurfs and then one day decided I no longer wanted them, now I wish I had them. Oh well...

Weather and Martha

Well yesterday it rained then it snowed and today it melted. I just love living in a place where you can experience all 4 seasons in 1 day. It really just throws my allergys in a whirlwind. I am so ready for springtime, the other day it was nearly 60 degrees and I left for work about a 1/2 an hour earlier than normal just so I could drive around with my windows open. Now its cold again.

Did ya hear about Martha Stewert? She's been found guilty. (If you don't know what for, where have ya been?) There is already an appeal in the works. I think she'll either only get probation or she'll get off totally. Wouldn't it be funny if she had to do community service... Teaching design to inmates?!?! Its not that I don't like her...Wait, I don't like her, nevermind.

feels like spring

I've got spring fever. Today we have a high of 65, and yesterday it got up to 70. I'm trying not to get too excited because I remember last March (around the 24th) we got almost 2 feet of snow. I know that this is our wettist month but Man, its been so nice...

Signs she's growing up

WARNING: THIS IS NOT FOR THE WEAK... MATURE AUDIENCES ONLY...

Today I called my girls. (for those who don't know, I have 2 daughters who live in Iowa with their Dad) Their names are Typhannie and Cherise. Anyway I talked to them today and my youngest who is 12 gave me the shock of my life... She started her period... *tear trinkling down cheek*

I'm so bummed... I've had this wonderful day planned since my girls were very young. Its called "Woman's Day". I'd let them skip school, give them gifts and we'd go to lunch at a fancy restruant, then manicures and pedicures, shopping and a movie... We'd celebrate becoming a woman... Just doing "girl stuff". Now the step-mom gets to do it...(as she got to do the first bra shopping)

My oldest daughter who will be 14 in May still has not started. I think she will be more like me, I think I was about 14... I told her that its really not something you should WANT to happen, its not that fun and it gets old real fast...

It just seems like yesterday I was holding them for the first time.

SORRY IF THIS IS MORE INFO THAN YOU WANTED, BUT I DID WARN YOU...

Hockey

Hockey fans everywhere should be outraged! This is the worst excuse for sportmanlike conduct ever... This guy should be banned from hockey for the rest of his and his children's lives. Check out the video...

Hockey update

I just saw a news update on the hockey case. Bertuzzi will be suspended for the end of this season and through the playoffs without pay. (they estimated about $501,000) And the Canucks were fined $250,000. Now I don't understand why the team was fined it wasn't the team that decided to be a jackass...

Did any of you see Bertuzzi's apology last night? He said in it that he wasn't intending to hurt Moore. THEN WHAT EXACTLY WERE YOU DOING??? I am so pissed at this guy.. Does he think that making this statement is going to make it all better? That its gonna get this guy back on the ice? What about the other guy that you may have ended his career??

Stupid criminals

This has got to take the cake... Thanks to Adelle

What to do...

Its my day off and I have a dilema... Should I tackle the ever growing laundry pile on my side of the bed? Or should I play The Sims Online?

Hmmm..

Well I am already on the computer... But... The laundry isn't going to get up and do itself... (although I have wondered if some of it could..)

THE SOLUTION:
Get up myself and start a load of laundry and then play while its going and take regular breaks to continue laundry...

Thanks for all your help...

Hair scare

Let me tell you a little story. But first let me tell you that if you are going to color your own hair from one of those boxes you can get just about anywhere stick to the same brand! This is why...

Thursday I had a hair color coming in at 5:30. She came in with mostly blonde hair, except the last 5-6 inches were of a green nature. She wanted an all over blonde with some bright red chunks underneath. The more I got thinking about my course of action I began asking her some routine questions. Beginning with "What is this, and why is it green?" She tells me that she had been doing her own hair and about 2 weeks after the last time it turned green. So I asked her "Well what are you using to color your own hair?" She tells me that one time she used this and another time she used that... So on and so forth... I told her that we have a few options that we can do. We can use bleach and get out the green, then go in a put in another color, that is considered corrective color and will cost $55 per hour and will take 3-4 hours. And she didn't think that her mom would go for it.

So I decided to do a test strand with bleach just to see what it would do, if it would lift the green out. I was holding a small section of hair (about a 1/4 in.) in my hand with a foin and was applying a bleach mixture to it. NOT EVEN A MINUTE INTO IT and her hair started getting hot and I could see the bleach boiling. So I took a spray bottle and hosed it to get it off her hair. And as I was rubbing it with a towel to get the bleach out the hair was disinagrating. Can you imagine if I had put it on most of her hair?

So I tell her that we have 2 options... Cut it out or use a semi-permanent color and go darker to cover it. She wasn't up for cutting, so now she is a brunette. The whole time I am applying this brown color I am thanking God that I was wise enough to do a test strand and telling her why she needs to stick with one kind of hair color. The chemicals that companies use for haircolor are never the same as each other. Therefore the chemicals react with each other and create messes.

This girl told me that she will never be doing her hair again. We all got to learn something that day.

Passion

We just got back from seeing Passion of the Christ. It was good and we both enjoyed it.

However I am lead to believe that I am becoming hard in my age. I expected to be alittle emotional and I wasn't. There were places were I had to turn my head, but my eyes were dry the whole time. I remember the first time I saw Braveheart. (I'm not compairing the two, I just really liked Braveheart) I cried so much I didn't think I'd stop. And I cryed many times after the first time. Yet this movie is so much more meaningful and, nothing... Is it just because I have grown up my whole life knowing about Jesus and what he means? Or had I turned into a hard hearted person?

a special announcement

I haven't mentioned this here before because I have allowed a few co-workers to see my site, so I was filtering what I was saying. But now that its out, I can share it with everyone. Plus I really made the final decision on Thursday, after talking to a long time friend in the biz.

I am leaving my current job and taking a new job. Same job just different place. I am going to be working for JC Penney's Styling Salon here in Ft.C. I have been thinking about leaving for some time now and have been working on this for almost 2 months. Its just time for me to move on... I have been trying to tell as many of my regular clients so that they can follow me if they like. But it is sorta hard. I am hoping that this is a good move for me... It is 18 miles closer to home... So I begin this new adventure on the 23rd, next Tuesday... Wish me luck.

Happy St. Patty's Day...

My husband has the best wife ever... She deserves an award... He forgot to pick up Corned Beef and Cabbage for her to cook for him on this day. So he calls her while she is playing The Sims Online (her favorite game) and she drops it to go get him CB&C.... Isn't she lovely?

Might I remind you that she is a vegetarian??

Movie Trivia

I think I am going to start doing a movie trivia thing here like Tim's Simpson's Trivia...

What movie is this line from: (hint: use a british accent when saying it, although it may not be a british movie)

"Hmmm...There is something amuck with this cake..."

I love when I can use british terms in everyday situations...

Good Luck...

Last Call

Today was my last shift at Cost Cutters. When I got there they had decorated my station up with ribbons and balloons and roses. There was a cake and Tinkerbell presents. And Confetti everywhere... EVERYWHERE! It is so nice to know that I am loved. Amanda brought me Chinese food. (on the night of her son's 8th birthday she took time out for me, what a sweetie) After my shift was over(at 9:00) I packed up my stuff.

As I was loading my car my balloons ran away from me. I cried... It was so monumental, leaving all my friends and watching my colorful balloons drift away into the night sky.

So afterwards I met my girlfriends (Sammie, Aimee, Jamie, and Jerri) at Chili's in FT.C, then we went dancing. Erik came to Chili's and so did Greg (McRae). I cut Greg's hair earlier tonight and told him that we'd be going there and said he could join us. Erik and Greg didn't join us at Club Osirus... Just as well, it wasn't busy and they shut down at 12:30 if there isn't 40 people there.

I have made some real lasting friendships and I am truely going to miss seeing these girls everyday... I'm sure we will still hang out and go dancing...

Weekend with the girls

We (Aimee, Jerri and myself) are going to The Peel's Spring Show this weekend. Aimee stayed over last night and right now we are getting our stuff together. We are staying in Denver tonight, and will be at a convention both today and tomorrow. It should be a blast... The classes end around 6 tonight so we can enjoy some nightlife... (probly just a movie or D&B)

March 25, 2004

getting situated...

So I started my new job on Tuesday. All I did on Tues, was paperwork, orientation stuff, and move into my station. Then yesterday I worked from 12-9pm. We were SLOW, really slow. I hung out most of the day and finially did a haircut around 7:30.

I'm not going to get discouraged... It was actually nice to be slow, that way I could watch the other gals and figure out how things work here... See what kind of routine goes on here.

The girls are all very nice and I think we will get along just fine. They really don't compair to my CC friends. I really miss you all....(Jerri, Meranda, Amanda, Alison, Aimee, Jamie, Kristina, Sammi, and Ericka) I know we'll see each other and all but its not the same.

Movie Trivia II

In honer of my first day off I am going to clean up the livingroom, (because later I am doing a haircut in trade for a massage) and then I am going to play TSO for the rest of the day!

But first its MOVIE TRIVIA time!

Who was the sponser for the "TV show" Wayne's World?

March 29, 2004
