Erik's Birthday

In one month Erik will be turning 30. I am throwing him a party. I have been racking my brain and today I figured it out. He's getting a Pirate Party... I'm sure it will be a hoot. Now I got to work on the details. Check this site out...

Did you ever know that you're my hero?

I have been thinking today about the people who inspire me.

My Best Friend SHALLEY- She has overcome so much in her life. I wish I could be more like her. We can go months and even years without speaking and once we chat its like no time has passed.

My Husband ERIK (and best friend too) No matter how stupid I can be sometimes, he's there for me.

My Aunt GRACE- She too has overcome much in her life, and I am thankful that she lives nearby.

There are more, but I don't want to get too sappy. WHO ARE YOUR HEROS?

Another one of my favorite sites... Check it out.

My 5 all time favorite movies:

5) Pretty Woman
4) Back to the Future
3) Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion
2) Somewhere in Time
1) Breakfast at Tiffany's

Nothing to exciting been going on. Just working, trying to catch up from the holidays.

The winds of change

I think I may turn vegetarian.

I have been thinking about this for awhile now. And I will need the support of everyone. I have been learning (not on purpose, mind you) more and more about what goes into our meat supply in America. And it really has got my attention. I listen to Coast to Coast every evening on the way home and visited this site once. (Once was enough!)

Now you wouldn't think that making this decision would really be this hard after what I have learned, but I come from a family of hunters and fishers. My Dad has know Jamie for a few years and still can't figure out why she doesn't eat meat. It was never a big deal to stopp eating pork and shellfish when Erik and I starting to get serious. (Because I never really liked the taste of pork and hated any thing that swims since I was really young.) But I do like Chicken and Turkey. Beef I can go either way, I may miss it on occasion.

I need advice from my fellow family members who are veggies... PLEASE!

After Christmas clean up

Well, I guess I should take down the Christmas Tree and the lights outside. When you live with just one other person and rarely have visitors its easy to just let the house go. (The gamecube doesn't help either)

So I guess tonight when Erik leaves to go gaming, I'll get to clean. YEAH!! I'll just pop in a favorite movie that I have see a billion times and get it all done. What I need is motovation, like if I knew we had guests coming I could get it real clean. Maybe I'll invite someone over...

Ants in my pants

I got ants in my pants. I recieved in the mail today the info from the realtor about the salon I want to buy. It shows the income of the salon over the past year. And they are only open 3 days a week and I plan to be open 5 days.
Now I can't sit still. I feel like I have just drank 4 Red Bulls. I guess I need to sit down and discuss with Erik if this is the path I should take.

I need lots of prayers ya'all...

Sneezing

I've always been told to look towards a light when you have to sneeze. I've also been told to think of a big brown cow to keep you from sneezing. So in the midst of a sneezing fit I really confused myself. I pictured a big brown cow standing in the sun...

Birds

Today I thought up a fun little way to find out something about your personality...

If you were a bird what kind of bird would you be? (First thing that comes to your head...) I chose a Flamingo... Slender, unique and a little funky.

Your turn...

Getting the ball rolling

Last night I talked with Erik about me buying this salon. He is leary but in the end he said I should go for it.

Today I called the SBDC and set up an appointment for the 27th of Jan.

So here it goes... I'm alittle nervous.

the weekend

WOW! What a productive weekend I had.

Friday I got to spend multiple hours at the mall with my dear friends, my own Gwynn and Marla. And spent multiple dollars at the mall.

Saturday I spent several hours next door with my Mom working on the rough draft to my "business plan". and completed it.(Thanks Mommy!) Erik and I worked on his birthday party invitations and completed the rough draft of that as well. Then in the evening we went over to our friends, Tod and Laurie's to play the game Scene It. Which I have been dieing to play.

And on top of all that I cut 4 heads of hair and made $45. One head was Erik so he didn't pay me... NOT YET! He pays in other ways... So now its Sunday morning and back to work...

Work

Man, last week really seemed like work. I had several days that I did more than one chemical service. I wouldn't mind so much if I were working for myself. It was just a long week and tomorrow won't be any better. I have a "customer service" class from 9-12 then I have to work 1-9. This is a required class so there is no getting out of it. So tonight when I get home its right to bed for me. Getting up before 9 is not my idea of fun... I am so much not a morning person.

Be glad that none of you have to witness this tragedy.
