Game Time

Wow, I cannot believe that it is already December 1st. Where has this year gone? There are only 24 days left til Christmas and I haven't a clue on what to get everyone on my tiny budget. I think Erik and I figured out what we are going to do for each other. I think we are going to get a shared gift this year.

His cousin Scott and his family were here for Thanksgiving and brought along their Nintendo Gamecube. We played til very late Saturday night. We have been discussing what game system to get. I have always been a Nintendo fan. We both like PS2 and another friend has an X-box. We were almost convinced about getting a PS2 but I really like Mario games. So it will be a Gamecube for sure...

First Steps

I just got off the phone with a Remax guy. I was asking about a salon that is for sale here in town for only $30,000.(all inventory included) He isn't the agent that is handling it but he is going to check into it and work up an information package for me.

AAAHHHH!!! I'm so scared and excited at the same time. This has been a long time dream of mine and I am actually looking into it. I'm not saying that I am going to buy it but its sorta scarey that I am taking these first steps.

I am going to take a field trip to drive by and get a look at it.

Wish me luck...

James Bond busted

Yesterday I went to scope out the salon. I was parked there in the parking lot, not directly in front of it. It didn't look like it was even open. I got a phone call and was chatting with Jamie. About 5 minutes later these 2 hairstylists come out of the salon and were at a car about 15 feet in front of me. They were busy exchanging clothes. I didn't want them to see me and then remember later after I am the new owner that they saw me lurking around. So I high tailed it out of there. I don't think they really saw me. But I don't think I'd make a good James Bond.

It was kinda fun and exciting. A change to the normal day.

Christmas lights

Remind me next year that hanging up Christmas light is a pain in my ASS and I will make Erik do it...

I hung up Christmas lights outside this morning. See above to find out how it went.

Jamie just came over to show me her new car. Very nice!!

Merry christmas to us...

Tonight Erik and I went to Toys R Us and got our christmas gift from each other. We got the indigo gamecube. We also got a few games. The Zelda 4pak came with it and we got Mario Kart and Mario Golf. He went and did his normal friday night gaming and I stayed home with the new toy.

Jamie came over and we went to the movies. We saw Gothika. Very interesting and creepy. Totally ended in a way I wasn't expecting. Then I played more...

Tomorrow I am going to Denver with my mom to check if Lowes has the curtains she wants. Lowes just happens to be next to Cinzetti's. My favorite Italian food place... YUMMY!! We may also get some Christmas shopping done with we are down there.

The weekend just sorta flew

The weekend just sorta flew by... Saturday we did go to Denver with my mom, we also went to Boulder to check out a store. Cost Plus World Market has got to be one of my new favorite places. I first discovered it on our visit to Detroit. Kat introduced us. Its alot like Pier 1 Imports. But AFFORDABLE.

Sunday night we went to see "The Last Samuri" with some friends, then we walked next door and ate at Texas Roadhouse. I didn't even get to play on the gamecube since it was 11:30 by the time we got home.

Talking about snow...

Earlier I posted a comment on Staci's page. She mentioned snow. Well at the time that I read it there was no snow here but now there is almost 2 inches on the ground. Denver hasn't gotten any yet according to the news. They showed a live shot at CSU and then a live shot of LODO. You'd never guess that we are only 60 miles apart, it looked like worlds apart.

I need a hug...

One of the receptionists I work with is from the Glenwood Springs area, and is very close to her older brother that lives there. He was just found in his home, dead.. The neighbors called the police about an "odor." All we know as us now is that it may be drug related. It just sorta hits me close to home...

On the other hand I have been thinking about what I would like for Christmas.

1) Italian charm bracelet with hairstyling and Colorado Avalanche charms

2) Avs Sweatshirt

3) Victoria Secret Lovespell perfume (or gift certifcate)

4) Alias season 1 & 2 DVD

5) Old Navy, Bath & Bodyworks, Target, Best Buy Gift Card

6) Loose fitting yoga pants (from Shopko)

7) Yoga Mat

I'm sure there is more, but that's all I can think of right now...

weekend update

This weekend really just sorta buzzed by...

Friday I stayed home most of the day working on crafty Christmas gifts, then in the evening Erik and I went Christmas shopping. We are just about finished.

Saturday had dinner with the family, came home and played on the gamecube, then later ing the evening went to Thorban and Susan's and played more gamecube.

Sunday, worked. After work we had a Baby shower for 2 of our girls. 1 had her baby in October the other is due in Jan. Then came home and played on the gamecube.

Just so everyone knows its Scott's fault that I am addicted to Animal Crossing. He's the one that told Erik to get it for me...

My head is spinning

Last night I worked with our manager and just out of the blue she pops this one on me..

"Oh, Cheryl... my last day is Jan. 7th." she says non-challontly

me.. "Last day of what?"

her.. "I bought a house in Grand Junction yesterday."

me.. "WHAT?!?!?!" (That's not something people just do everyday)

her.. "I'm moving back to GJ to be near my family."

Apparenly the death of our receptionist's brother and the holiday season has gotten to her. She is stepping down and not going to me a manager when she gets there... WOW! I am a little in shock... First she's leaving, then she's staying now she's leaving. I guess I'll just wait and see.

Christmas time

I love Christmas time... hate the shoppers though... I suck at waiting for Christmas. I already gave Erik 2 of his gifts,(besides the gamecube) I'm still holding on to one for Christmas morning. I got him the Alias seasons 1 and 2 on DVD... Well 1 is for him and 2 I got from the remainder of the Best Buy gift card his mom sent us for Christmas.

Right now I am in the process of "Decking Our Halls". We are having a little get-together here tomorrow for work... But I needed alittle break... OK, breaks over, back to work.

2 days

Here is one of my new favorite sites. Lost in Wisconsin I like how she does a Friday 5 every week, I may start doing somethng like that...

Here are my 5 favorite drinks

1. Diet Pepsi
2. Pink Lemonade
3. Red Bull
4. Margaritas
5. Jasmine Tea

Only 2 more days til Christmas. I have all my shopping done. Now its just a waiting game...

We had our little Christmas get together here on Sunday night. It really wasn't that exciting... 5 girls didn't come for various reasons. That left a few girls who did show up without a gift, so we gave them the gifts that they brought for the ones who didn't show up... It all worked out.

My birthday is Monday the 29th so I took Sunday the 28th off so I could have a 4 day weekend. I am really looking forward to it...

Feel like being inspired? Read my cousin Gary's site about living with CF. What an amazing young man.

Christmas came and went... I hope everyone enjoyed the time with their families, and to reflect on what the season is about...
