I'm sorry I haven't blogged

I'm sorry I haven't blogged in a little while. There really hasn't been much to report. Erik was gone over the weekend. He was at what I call a "geek fest". Tacticon is a big gaming convention in Denver. (like rpg's and stuff) He and Titus and another friend Ken stayed at the hotel for the whole experience. I'm glad I wasn't there. Can you imagine the smells of 3 grown men in one small room...? Nuf said!

I on the other hand had the weekend off. My cousin Deborah was married on Saturday. Beautiful wedding! I wish Erik was there. Sunday I went with Grandma Sarah to her family reunion thing in Morrill, Neb. We met Ernie and Georgia in Cheyenne and rode with them. That was an interesting day! I got back home around 5 and Erik got home around 8ish, we were happy to see each other. I really missed my sweetie.

Last night we decided that it was our turn to have a Sabbath Dinner. So we are doing it on the 28th. I have already informed the family. A whole 3 weeks before, can you believe it? I really don't like it when we are informed a day or two before. I can't commit when I only have 2 days notice. We usually have plans already. Or I have to work. I hope I set some sort of presidence for the family!

Well, we made it. It's

Well, we made it. It's over, we've passed the Anniversary of 9-11. I am glad. I feel so terrible for all the families and friends that lost their loved ones on that tragic day. I kept quiet this week knowing that there is nothing I could say that would ease any of their pain.I listened as all the names of the lost were read. And I cried. I remember that day so vividly. I was actually right here on the computer and I totally had no idea of what was happening in our world. I got up late and didn't turn on the TV until almost noon. When I did tune in, I was so shocked. And now it is 1 year later. Many have forgotten how they felt that day, many have gone on with their lives and many (like me) think of that day often.

Some people just get under

Some people just get under my skin. I swear people get stupid the instant they sit in my chair. They sit down and I say "Well, what are we going to do today?"
"Oh, I wanted to get a haircut." (No shit? I thought we established that by you walking in a saying "I need to get a haircut.")
So then I say "Well how would you like your hair cut?"
"Oh I don't know, just cut it."
So what I really want to tell them is to go home and don't come back until they figure out what the hell they want to do with their friggin' hair. But instead I play it real sweet and try to smile. I can understand if they don't know what they want to do but are there seeking your advice, but when they just have the "just cut it" attitude all I want to do is send them on their way with a green and purple mohawk!

Oh, I forgot. Friday a

Oh, I forgot. Friday a couple of girls from work and I went to see "One Hour Photo". Which is suposed to be a pretty scary movie. There was only one really scarey part of the movie that I didn't think really had anything to do with the story. It was only scarey because it was so disturbing. The rest of the movie was somewhat "off" but I have seen scarier. Overall it wasn't a complete waste of my time and money.

This Sunday I am going

This Sunday I am going to a big "hair show" for all the Cost Cutters in Colorado. I will be staying in a hotel room Saturday night with about 7 girls from my salon. The show is called Super Sunday and from what I have gathered from the other gals is that is when all the venders kiss up to all us stylists by giving us free products. COOL!

Super Sunday was such a

Super Sunday was such a blast.

We (Ericka, Michele, Aimee, and myself) went down Saturday night a stayed in a hotel room. After we got all checked in and unloaded our gear. (How much gear do you think 4 hairstylists shaing a room would have???) (TONS) Anyway, after we got unloaded we went to Wendy's for a little grub then we went on to Polly Esters. ( a nightclub in Denver) We had a great time dancing the night away. The next morning we all rolled out of bed around 7ish, got ready for our hair show, went down to get some of the free continental breakfast. (Yeah, free food) and registered for the day. There was 3 classes to take, lots of shopping to do and a great lunch for us. There was 535 hairstylists there and we all worked for the same company. Everybody was so friendly.

Did I mention that is was also a costumed event? The theme was the "Pink 80's" There was contests for the salon that had the best group costume. We dressed up as "Risky Business". We all had on men's white business shirts, boxers, socks and dark sunglasses. One of our girls (Sarah) dressed as our "Hooker". The salon that won first prize was from Ft. Collins, they dressed up as the gang from "Beetlejuice". They looked awesome, you can tell that they had spent alot of time and effort into in.

The reason why it was called the "Pink 80's" is because we are doing a big fund raiser for Breast Cancer right now. We have raised a lot of money but there is still a big need. So go out to your nearest Cost Cutters and donate alittle money. Even if you can only give $1. If you and everyone you know could give $1 think of the difference you could make. Our slogan right now is "Because we care for more than just hair".

Breast Cancer is very personal, I know. My Aunt had it and was told that if she didn't have any reoccurances for 7 years that she would be fine. She made it 6 1/2 years and found a lump in the scar where they removed one of her breasts. She has survived this deadly disease twice. I that God that there are people out there that are working for a cure.

Wow, what a really super

Wow, what a really super weekend. Yesterday we had Erik's family over for dinner. Which was great. We got to eat and hang out.

Today Erik and I went to the Great Colorado Marketplace. Where we bought a tree frog. We can't remember what kind of tree frog he (or she) is but we do remember that it is from Australia. So we named him "Melbourne". We think we are clever. So when we got him home, Erik looked up on the internet things about tree frogs and then we went shopping to get Mel things for his new home. Now he's sleeping in a big 20 gallon fish tank to himself. We may need to get him some friends soon...
